OPTX 20/20 Alphareader 3 Pair Valupac Metal Readers

Just got these, so will update over time. Main thing that I'm loving right off is that they're tight and solid. For something so inexpensive, I'm surprised at the rock-solid feel, relatively heavy metal, and just the right height to make looking over the lenses easy, while still giving a good reading area. The nose pieces have a nice soft give to them, so they're comfortable on the bridge of my nose.All-in-all, seems like a very well-engineered product for something that costs less than three dollars a pair.UPDATE 8/17/2014Still using these glasses consistently. Best reading glasses I've ever owned (and I've had quite a few). I did order extra pairs, and one came with the nose piece broken off and had to be thrown away. For $3 a pair, I'll take that loss. I do find that I have to spread the ear pieces out on each pair to fit my head, but once I do that, they're completely comfortable. I haven't had a pair fail mechanically, and the ones I've used for quite a while (have them seeded throughout the house) are exactly as they were when new. There is absolutely no play in the ear piece connections, and the frame doesn't twist at all--very stiff. They also come in a nice sturdy plastic box that's great for storing fishing lures :)UPDATE 6/25/2015Still using these consistently and completely pleased. Found that they were pinching my temples too much so put a bow in the ear pieces which alleviated that. These things are amazing. Twice in the last week I managed to drop the current pair as I got out of the car and STEP ON THEM!! Fortunately they weren't scratched (don't know how) but were completely crushed/misshapen. I was able to bend them back without anything breaking. I've also sat on them a number of times and again, bend them slowly back and they're fine. Even after this terrible treatment the ear pieces have very little give relative to the main frame. They're so cheap that I have a box of about 5 3-pair units, since I'm not sure if they'll continue to be around. One of the best products I've ever bought.

I'm not used to wearing glasses but now that I need them, I leave them lying around everywhere. I travel a lot and tend to lose things these days so these glasses are great for a couple of reasons:1. They are inexpensive.2. They are pretty durable.3. They fit me well.4. I can read with them, i.e. they have good optics.I have spent money on reading glasses that were too expensive for the purpose or too cheap to fit and work well. I just bought my 3rd set of these glasses without hesitation because they do the job and they are low cost. They arrive in a hard plastic case that protects them well during shipping (but it is not a case to keep them in, just a shipping case). I have a slightly wide head so these glasses fit snugly out of the box (they have a 5.5" temple width) but they spread easily enough at the temples and bridge to fit well. I have never broken a pair (I just lose them) but I am not very gentle with small things and I have dropped them, sat on them, and just this morning stepped on a pair. The frames are pretty decent and bend back into place easy enough but hold their shape until I sit on them again. Each time that I mangle a pair, I expect them to break but instead they gently bend back into place like they should. That impresses me for 3 pairs at less than $10.00.I currently use a 1.75 magnification and these glasses do the job perfectly. The lenses are clear and accurate for me. The picture and description shows 3 colors: chrome, brown, gold. I have never received a chrome-colored pair (which is fine with me) but a gunmetal/black pair instead, which I like the best. I hope that the gunmetal color hasn't been discontinued.

I recently lost my favorite reading glasses (bought from a drug store), so I ordered this three-pack. The good news is, these glasses are comfortable (a little heavy, but not bad), not flimsy at all, and have very clear optics. The bad news is, one pair arrived with a small crack at the bottom of one lens; unfortunately, the item is now back-ordered 2-4 weeks so I can't get a replacement before I leave for vacation. The crack isn't really noticeable when you're reading, and at this price, even two pairs would have been a bargain so I'll just keep them. I must say, it is a little disappointing to receive anything in less-than-perfect condition from Amazon (a first for me, I think), but I'm sure I'll get over the disappointment while reading a good novel on the beach.

Sigh, one of the 'pleasures' of age is the need for Reading Glasses. Until recently, my eyes have been better than I could have hoped. My Optometrist taught me that with age the eyes aren't able to focus on things very close, and prescribed Reading Glasses.I FAR PREFER these inexpensive glasses to the larger more expensive prescription glasses that are available. My Optometrist also agreed that for my needs, store bought glasses are fine. The quality is good and the lens' are clear. They are a very good value from a cost/quality perspective.I love buying this 3-pack of glasses. They are inexpensive enough that I have literally tossed them where I will need them. I hated the idea of carrying glasses around. Now I have a pair in the Living Room for when I use my Tablet. 1 pair in the home office, tossed just below the monitor, and the last pair at work for the fine print that seems to get smaller each year.These glasses have exceeded my expectations. They are small enough that I can put them at the end of my nose so I can look down at my tablet and then glance up at a TV, without having to move the glasses. I guess this is where the idea of bifocals came from? (Ben Franklin must have had the same issue with his TV and Tablet)Should any break, or if I need another pair, I'll happily buy another 3-pack just so I don't have to worry about losing or breaking any of them.

Me parecieron de una calidad muy buena para el precio, se utilizaron a diario por muchos meses y se fueron quebrando por caídas, maltratos e incluso alguna que otra sentada encima de ellos, claro que los volveremos a comprar pues son económicos y además bonitos.No nos pesados y son muy cómodos al utilizarlos por periodos largos, claro que por este precio se entiende que son micas y no vidrio.

Really great product at the right price, for a guy who reads a lot, these glasses are simply too good,

They're ok. Viewing with them was fine but arms were cheap, broke two pairs within a few months. Not terribly stylish, but you get what you pay for.

Well made and very affordable.
