With the summer heat I've been riding more at night to escape the brutal rays of the sun. My old headlight was little more than a glorified flashlight. It worked reasonably well to keep me visible to traffic but fell way short in it's ability to illuminate my route, requiring me to slow way down when riding. I decided it was time to upgrade and the Bright Eyes light seemed to offer the best value in terms of light strength, battery duration, build quality and price.After ordering but before the kit arrived, I received email correspondence from Always Quality Plus Products, thanking me for my purchase and including detailed instructions and usage tips for the light. This was a nice gesture as it gave me time to familiarize myself with the product and think about installation options before it even arrived. When it did arrive it was obvious that this is a high quality product. Aluminum housing construction, good fit and finish, quality electrical connections and a great mix of accessories are included in the kit. Installation is simple and the included abundance of accessories allow for myriad mounting/installation options. Standard 3-mode operation of the light is as simple as a button press. Expanded 5-mode operation is as simple as pushing and holding the button down for several seconds. Repeated pressing and releasing of the button allows you to cycle through all available modes.This light has completely transformed my nighttime bike riding. The powerful beam, coupled with the included diffuser lens, illuminates the roadway with ease, giving the same nighttime viewing experience as driving a car or motorcycle. My nighttime speeds are only marginally slower than in daytime and this is more by choice out of caution rather than necessity. It is obvious that other drivers are much more aware of me than they were before. I suspect that from a distance they perceive me to be an approaching motor vehicle. Drivers turning out in front of me used to be a common nighttime occurrence. That behavior has virtually ceased since using this light. The included taillight, despite the small size, is surprisingly bright and noticeable. Overtaking vehicles generally give me more room and pass with more caution than they did when I was only using a rear reflector. The taillight went from being what I initially viewed as a nice bonus to an absolutely required piece of nighttime equipment.I've also found that both lights provide some of the same benefits during the daytime as at night. During the day with the headlight on the lowest setting and the taillight set to slow flash, other drivers have generally passed or approached with a little more caution than before. It's not as dramatic a difference as at night, but still noticeable.This light kit has been an invaluable addition to my bicycling accessory list. I no longer hesitate to ride at night because of this kit. It is a no-brainer, get on the bike and ride.

I bought this light for my wife's mountain bike. I do a lot of night time single-track riding and have much more expensive lights but wanted something that would provide good light and not break the bank for her bike in case she didn't like night rides. Out of the box, the BRIGHT EYES Helios Fully Waterproof 1600 Lumen Rechargeable Light comes with the spot light lens installed. It has a very strong, bright white light that creates a circle about ten feet wide on the trail ahead. Switching out the lens to the diffuser creates a moderately wider beam but drastically softens the edges which vastly improves the single-track riding experience. Switching the lens isn't difficult but it does involve some very tiny screws which could be lost on the trail. I would strongly recommend making the switch at home where you won't lose them. On two hour rides, the beam does not weaken and the housing did not become overly hot. The battery pack is huge in a good way and easily straps onto the bike frame. We have 35mm handlebars and the mounting system held firmly without rolling forward. On bars with a smaller diameter it might be necessary to use some bar tape or other material to thicken the mounting location. It comes with a ton of attachments for various mounting options and is even mentioned to work on top of a helmet with the battery presumably in a backpack or pocket but while the light isn't particularly heavy, it is too heavy for a mountain bike helmet. We found this light with the diffuser lens to be an excellent match when partnered with a dedicated wide beam helmet light. It got on my radar when I read about it on various MTB website light reviews and I'm glad I came across it. For the price, you'd be hard pressed to find another light that will perform as well. Where it needs to be improved is that it is not totally water resistant. The lens has a rubber gasket and the power button in the back has a rubber grommet type cover but where the power cord feeds into the housing from the bottom could potentially leak water in if one were to submerge their bicycle while crossing a river, etc. This isn't a scenario many riders will come across and rain will not present any problems at all. There would be virtually no chance of damage in a rainstorm but I would be wary of using a hose on it while washing the bike for fear of water pressure pressing up and getting water in the housing. Thankfully, mounting and removal is a sixty second job at most. Also, if anything happens to it, the company will respond to your messages on Amazon incredibly fast and does everything it can to right the issue for you. They even send out an Amazon message offering you extra free mounting bands as a thank you for buying their product. I've gotten a ton of compliments for this light and had a bunch of friends get the same light because of what they saw. Buy this light, you won't be disappointed.

This company is the BEST to work with. Their customer service is the best I've ever seen in the numerous years I've been on this planet. Dead battery? No problem, got a replacement in two days. Boom. Headlight failed? No problem. Lifetime warranty. Boom. Got it within two days. I've worked with Rikki there, who is the best. Friendly, helpful and professional. Let's talk about the headlight. It lasted four years of 3+ rides per week and received a a workout during that time. I bet I wore the switch out. Awesome product, tough and well designed. They don't call them Bright Eyes for nothing. They have a customer for life. Don't wast your time with other headlight manufacturers, go to Bright Eyes.

I have this light mounted on my E-mountain bike, it was easy to install, and in the short time I have had it installed it seems to work great. It is winter where I am, and dark by 17:30 so it was a very welcome addition to my bike. It seems to be a very solid piece and well made, I have not been able to test it's water proofing but I am sure it will hold just fine. I did experience an issue with shipping but the seller was able to get it sorted and made things right.

No proper instructions making this a very frustrating product not able to use have no choice but to return this terrible terrible product
