The controller was super easy to setup. I did have to tell it via a code that I have a Samsung TV, but the first of many possibilities worked. Luck me! So happy to have a controller that all the buttons work the first time.I am not happy with AT&T that we have to buy our own replacement controllers. AT&T is not selling this controller, which is an exact match to the one that came with the receivers.Four stars because the battery cover fits poorly. It fits but not tightly. Something wrong with the casting. I tried the cover from the old controller, but it fits poorly too. Not a tight fit.

I purchased this item as it was identical to the remote that came when they installed my cable. Some of the buttons on the old remote stopped working while others, like the volume worked opposite....meaning when I would press the volume down button the volume would increase. The mute quit working, the pause quite working and the on/off only worked half the time. I found the replacement online at Amazon and purchased it. I waived the option for technical support. It was so easy to program to my TV and I have been so happy since. Everything works and works well! All the buttons work as they should. It is wonderful not to have to fight the remote anymore!

Remote came today to replace same model remote that quit working after 6 years use. I know how to program remote but still followed instructs...no deal, no work...tried to return to Amazon while I order a replacement...no deal..Amazon has a policy in place of no return on this item...that sucks..only out 9 bucks but still is 9 bucks! Still have no choice but to order another one.

Purchased 2 and neither worked on receipt. Contacted AT&T who said that model is way out of date. My wife, who had picked them out on Amazon to replace the ones that she uses was not willing to return them and threw them into the trash. She didn't feel that they were worth being called electronic waste.

Despite the instructions being provided, this remote will not program itself to my Sharp TV at all. Most buttons work except for the power and volume buttons. Volume buttons do function but I can only turn the sound up to a certain point which definitely does not reach my TV's volume capacity. Pretty strange. Perhaps it's user error but I've tried everything to program it to my TV.

This review may turn out to be as much about the UVerse service as it is about the remote. The remotes we received with UVerse worked great at first, but they got worse and worse over time. We were hopeful that a new remote would fix the problem – which it did, but only for a few weeks. We now have three barely functioning remotes – and yes, we've replaced the batteries in each.Regarding UVerse itself, it has about the dumbest software I've worked with for any product. Sometimes the remote works flawlessly, so I really don't know if I should blame the remote or the service itself. If only we had a decent alternative in our area.

My previous remote was so old I had to really push down on the buttons and even then I’d end up on a different channel. This new one is great! I would highly recommend it.

I ordered three “ new” AT&T remote controls for $30.99 a piece. They were received on time but one did not work at all and another one only partially worked.I received authorization to return both and mailed back in the same package. The vendor is disputing that they only received one remote.DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS VENDOR. They advertised and sold these remotes as new when clearly they are not. I am now wasting my time disputing with the credit card company.
