Get Rain? Get These!
I ordered these fenders in Jan 2015 and was the victim of a computer/sku error that sent me an SKS mini air pump instead. I sent it back, but I will say that it was one well built air pump, so I knew then what SKS is capable of. Anyway, Green River, the vendor, did totally right by me and I finally received the fenders. I installed them in about 2 hours without any issues other than having to tweak some brackets to meet my bikes' geometry. That's to be expected on a product being sold to be able to fit a whole range of bikes out there. I should also state that I installed these based on the brief instructions in the package, not knowing that no one likes them and I'm supposed to go to Youtube first. As mentioned by everyone, the steel fender stays need to be cut after a general fitting, so my method was to use a Dremel with a flex attachment and a cut-off wheel. That way I could cut off the stays while the fender was on the bike AFTER lining everything up. Trust me, borrow a Dremel if at all possible and make your cuts on the bike; a bike repair stand is another thing to borrow if at all possible.I really like these fenders for their light weight and their full coverage from road spray. They will add a commuter/euro look to your ride, so be prepared for that change in your usual visual. But when it gets wet you'll be smilin'!

Awesome fenders; terrible installation
These are the best fenders I've used, but I had to dock a star for installation and missing parts. It's worth noting that the SKS P45 Longboard fenders provide better coverage than the SKS P50 Longboard fenders. I don't know why SKS makes the P50 so much shorter and yet still calls them "longboard". I'm using 700-38 tires, and stuck with the P45 Longboards for the improved coverage, even though they're slightly wider than SKS recommends for the P45 fenders. Anything under ~42mm wide, I'd probably still stick with the P45 Longboards. The actual installation is not difficult; it's just that you need to figure it out yourself. The included instructions are pretty much useless and the online videos refer to specific bikes and are again mostly useless if you don't have those style bikes. So I had to figure out the install myself on my hardtail hybrid bike with V-brakes, and necessary parts were not included. One of the included cap screws was ridiculously long and unusable on the front fork since it would interfere with either the V-brake or the suspension travel depending which side I used the nut. All the other screws were too short.I went to the hardware store and purchased two M5-0.8x30mm cap screws, several M5 washers, and some extra M5 lock nuts. These were just right for mounting to the front fork and between the rear seat stays.I figured out that I could use one of the black spacers, a couple washers, and the included M5-0.8 cap screws to attach the bottom of the rear fender rigidly between the chain-stays through the screw hole that the instructions tell you to affix some weak-looking metal clips. My bike's frame was actually threaded for M5-0.8 screws in that spot. Many bikes seem to have this threaded fender mount between the chainstays, so I don't know why the instructions didn't even show it this way. Works very well. The fender stays were fairly straightforward, but you need to:1) Install them2) Mark where to cut them3) Remove them4) Cut them with a hacksaw (clamps help)5) Reinstall themI ended up using the included medium screws up front with some washers and nuts, and the included short screws in the rear with washers and screwed directly into the bike frame.

Terrible Installation. Good Fenders.
I have to start by saying that the fenders are rock solid and seem to be working well now that I have them installed. The installation, however, was ridiculous. It took me and my wife over two hours to put the things on the bike and we were constantly running into issues and confusion with the fenders and their hardware. The “helpful instructions” provided are absolutely useless and we were only able to finally get them on by watching the video REI has on their site for these fenders. Without that, I don’t think we could have ever worked it out. Good product, but soured by an unnecessarily difficult installation.

Terrible Cheap Pieces of Plastic
I spent two hours trying to put those on... I managed to do it (I didn't get to use the recommended... hacksaw(!!!!) to shorten the metal suspension bars) but everything looks crooked and terrible because of the cheap plastic material they are made off. Do not even think of buying those for a nice bike! Maybe for a cheap commuter.Oh, yes, and they came with the wrong nuts. I had to go to the hardware store and get new ones!Stay away!

Great coverage! My feet stay drier and my back ...
Bought these for a dedicated commuter bike. Great coverage! My feet stay drier and my back cleaner than my shorter coverage strap on fenders. Install wasn't a trouble. I had to chop them in half (front and back) because of tight clearance issues with the brakes. I ordered the River City Bicycles reacharounds for the install and they work great. I debated ordering the skinnier size but I'm glad I got these wider ones for my 28mm Conti Gatorskins.I would happily purchase these again.

Nice fenders but prepare thyself to mcgyver a bit for a good fit. Such is life.
As you've no doubt read installation is a bit of bear but IT'S TOTALLY WORTH IT. These are rock-solid fenders that have great coverage, which by my philosophy is the point of a fender. Installation nuances: I found a pair of crazy thick wire snippers awhile back and they came in handy for trimming the excess wires which stuck out pretty far after installation (search for "heavy gauge wire cutters"). I threw out the useless wire-covers they sent and instead caulked the fresh cuts so I wouldn't slice myself on sharp turns. There's also strange little black things that you're supposed to put in the tightening nuts. I threw those out, too, and tightened directly on to the wires. The front fender stuck out too much over the front wheel, so I trimmed that with some utility snips, too. Who is this guy, you ask? Is he some authority of nut-ball? Probably both, but this is my second set and I bike year-round in The North, so... so. The joy of installing a second set is you probably can leave the wires attached and just mount the fender.
