Louisiana Grills 56215 Hopper Extension, 20-Pound

Good product and but only giving 4 stars because they need to come up with a latch system to make it sit more securely on your existing hopper.I use this on a CS 570The product works great and really extends the smoking time on overnight smokes or simply the need to re-fill as often. I found that if you cut some double sided 3M sticky tape ( padded type) along the long flat side ( near the base of your original lid) that this gives the unit a more secure fit and less chance of getting knocked off and thus having pellets everywhere. The tape keeps is secure and I have not had any problems. Also my existing LG cover still fits so that is a plus.So as a unit, I would give it 5 stars for quality etc, but I gave it 4 stars because they need to change the design a little or ad some clips to keep the original and extension held together. I could drill and tap some SS screws just to give it a permanent feel if the tape does not hold up.

The media could not be loaded.  ad uses model 56215 its not that model. that model fits the LG800 elite model as in the owner's manual. so i ordered based on the model number well. Now i need to return it since its has the wrong model on product name. So update on this product. Louisiana grill doesn’t make a hopper extension for the lg 800 elite. So I ordered another one and modified it to fit on the lg800 elite.

The product arrived quickly and as described. The hopper extender doubled my pellet capacity and allows for longer cook times without need for refilling.The only improvement I wish it came with is a heat resistant waterproof gasket to fit around the base so no water/rain can get in. The connection is still pretty tight, but a gasket would keep pellets in the hopper dry and provide peace of mind.

It’s great, I had to modify it to fit on my black label 1000 or it wouldn’t have worked. But it’s fine now.

I put two butts on the grill at 6:00 pm and got up the next day and turned them off at 7:30 am the next day cooked to perfection!
