I really like this it does the job and feels like an expensive product even though it isn't

This is just slightly unorthodox as a cleanser, in my opinion, as it’s a gel that leaves your skin feeling very oily indeed- the kind of residue that some people might want to use a cleanser to remove. It certainly cleans, and leaves your skin looking and feeling very glossy, but it’s not quite as refreshing or ‘light’ as I expected. It reminds me more of a beard oil.The best thing about this balm is the smell, which again is slightly beard oil-like thanks to the strong almond oil element. It’s rich and golden, with hints of cedarwood and honey and yoghurt. It feels very indulgent, and if I could bottle up just the smell, I would.The worst thing about the oiliness is what gets left on your hands. Even after washing with soap after application, each time I use this I end up with oily hands that I just feel like re-washing. The lid of this balm tube is covered in my greasy fingerprints now as well. That’s why, to me, it is simply just too oily.The oiliness certainly explains why a ‘hot cloth’ is included, but of course a cloth is only a hot cloth if you warm it up, otherwise it’s just… a cloth. It’s nicely presented but ultimately it is just a plain white handcloth, like you might find in a mid- to low-budget hotel. It’s plush at first but will be thin after not too many washes. It doesn’t really up the value of the balm all that much.Using a hot cloth after you’ve applied the oil is a good way to help the oil rub in, but the cloth being hot doesn’t unlock any magic properties or make any real difference. I wondered if it might bring out the aroma a bit more, but it doesn’t particularly. It’s a bonus to have a cloth, fine, but the result is a bit nothing-y.For the feel and oiliness, I’m tempted to give this 3 stars, but it’s the lovely smell that just bumps it up to a 4 for me.

I do genuinely rate this ritual cleaning balm very highly. I was using this all wrong at first as I didn't read the instructions. I was using this under the shower to clean my face, but it not really special when you apply it on a wet face.No, what you are meant to do is rub a small amount of this on you your face when still dry. When you massage it in it turns into a lovely oily kind of face cleanser. It has a very gentle smell, not too overpowering.Included with this, is a cleansing hot cloth to wash your face after you've applied the cleanser.

Superb quality, simple bottle with an absolute great design, nice and delicate .scent.This cleansing balm shall last me forever as you need just a bit for each use.From the balms change to oil and leaves your skin feeling super fresh, clean and moisturised.White cloth in the set will help you to finish your little “ritual”. Actually this balm gives me a nice feeling that I am doing something good for myself and my skin. As for this brand this product seems cheap but I am absolutely impressed with the product so I would fully recommend for everyone to try this out.

This is a beautiful cleansing balm that comes with a high quality towel for applying the heat to the balm. It cleanses gently and beautifully, leaving skin clean and feeling fresh and smooth.

Very elegant boxing it looks way more expensive than it is, I only mark it down one star because I don't like the oil stage the rest is nice. Cloth is soft.

I just love this brand! Every product I’ve ever tried has been fab and this is no exception. It’s similar to a product from decleor which is a called a plumping mask.It goes on like a cream then melts into an oil. The cloth is to wash it off. You only need a little bit so it’s going to last you a while!Lovely feel on skin. I love the smell and the packaging, as always with Rituals, is lovely!

Bought for my wife who adores Rituals products and was eager to try their skincare. She says this is one of the best cleansers she has used. Light in scent and delicate on her skin. It removes all traces of make up leaving her face clean, fresh and baby soft.. Non drying and doesnt leave her skin tight. She is now eager to try more of this skincare range and being so reasonably priced it's a bargain.
