I bought these at NO discount, just regular price, so please take that for what it's worth. I am severely deficient in Vitamin D, to the point that I was having so many problems, I got tested for autoimmune disorders along with a vitamin D test when I was having issues. I'd tested at a 12 before, but this time it was a 7 -- normal levels are around 30-100. I am so deficient that I can feel a difference if I miss even a week of taking a supplement.I switched to this supplement mostly because I liked the packaging, the amount and the price; it's a very good deal compared to drugstore 1000IU bottles that generally only come with 100 pills. The pills are tiny, which is what I expected; it's funny how all vitamin d is around the same size, no matter if it's 1000IU or 50000IU! So it's likely a pill size you're expecting if you generally take D3 already.Like I mentioned before, I can tell when I miss supplements, and so can my body; I'll likely be on fairly high dose D3 forever. I missed a few last week and took a couple of vitamin pills on Monday to catch up, and I could feel the difference at the end of the day. My joint pain wasn't bothering me again, my legs didn't ache horribly like before. I was genuinely surprised it worked so quickly as other D3 supplements generally take a couple of days to work, but these seem to be 100% as advertised, and very good.I'll buy them again, for sure -- and so should you! Vitamin D has appeared in numerous peer-reviewed studies to help allergies (I have experience with this being true!) to cancer prevention, absorption of calcium and more! D3 is the easier absorbed type of vitamin D (feel free to read up on ergocalciferol vs cholecalciferol), in case you wanted to know that fun fact. So, yes, I've done my research, I've tried it myself, and this product works.

Vitamin D3 itself also aids in the absorption of your body's calcium from food.I have tried other Vitamin D supplements before, but I am thrilled with GAIAsciences Vitamin D3 5000 IU because it is easy to swallow in a very small capsule, it is made with organic olive oil, and I also like that it is manufactured in the USA and is GMO free. I have noticed consistent energy and more stable moods since I have been on this vitamin regimen.I take 5000 IU of Vitamin D3 daily in the winter, and every other day during the spring, summer and fall months that typically have more sunlight. I was recently diagnosed with extremely low levels of Vitamin D. Our bodies make Vitamin D in only 20 minutes of moderate sun exposure. Living in California and being outdoors every day I thought I should not have to worry about Vitamin D, so I was very surprised to learn about my low Vitamin D levels. I was put on a regime of 5000 IU daily for 3 months to refill my body's Vitamin D levels.Generally I am having a hard time swallowing pills and often times I react with nausea to a lot of Vitamin pills, so I kind of have given up on multivitamins and am mostly trying to get my health through a superhealthy nourishing diet (I eat everything, but especially a lot of veggies and healthy fats). So I wasn't too happy about having to potentially swallow another horsepill that might make me feel sick and nauseated - so I was very happy to find out that not only these softgel caps are super tiny and very, very easy to swallow, they also don't have any taste, aftertaste or other adverse effects on my. In fact, I have been sleeping better since I started taking them and have felt more energy - which may, or may not be connected or maybe I just had a couple of good days. I take Vitamin D3 Oil every day and find this product to be excellent because of the careful cold-pressed manufacture process..This pharmaceutical grade vitamin D3 is the same form of vitamin D which is biologically produced by the body. Vitamin D is essential support for bones and teeth and has been shown to be effective in the prevention of certain forms of cancer because of its antioxidant properties. All of the GAIA Sciences are carefully researched and manufactured to the highest standards. Because I wear sunscreen and avoid the sun, taking Vitamin D3 is an important part of my health regimen to build strong bones.I highly recommend GAIA Sciences products. I was prescribed Vit D by my Naturopathic Doctor. This being my first bottle it's too early to tell on the effectiveness (I will post an update after my 6 month blood work though!), but the price was good and the shipping was quick. I liked that they offered 5000IU capsules. Looking forward to seeing the effects! They also offer a free bottle for reviews, which is cool!
