Fantastic salami!
I buy these to take backpacking. As with any properly cured meat, they last for days out of the fridge. Although this usually doesn't make it past day two on a trip because it's so delicious!I find the string doesn't help in peeling the casing all that well, but I just slit the casing down two sides and it peels easily. To the genius complaining about the casing - It's not supposed to be eaten. DUH!To all the people claiming their product arrived moldy... It's supposed to be moldy. It's part of the curing process. Would you write a bad review for blue cheese because it was moldy? *sigh*

MOISTURE inside packaging... packaging bloating. Signs that there is a major problem.
All of them that I received today had high moisture, visible water droplets inside. The meat looks swollen as well, not dry as it should. There isn't much Penicillin on the outer jacket either. The wrapper is almost completely devoid of it.This may be an item for the trash; will try to contact seller.Update:I have opened the package. The smell is an overwhelming sour smell. Not at all what I know this brand to smell like when opened. When I cut into the salami, it was sweating. Sopping wet. Not what I know this brand to be like. When I looked at the texture, it looks like it was microwaved, not what this should look like. When salami is not properly stored, ie: put into a refrigerator, it changes it. The penicillin on the outer sheathe dies, it ends up sopping wet, and it squeaks when you try to bite into it. This is quite similar. They have destroyed this product and I will be filing for a refund. It is inedible.

Amazing Customer Service & Fantastic Product
I ordered two of the Picante which I had had one time before. When the product arrived it was green. I contacted Creminelli through Amazon and was informed that sometimes the packaging gets ripped or air is allowed into the packaging. They immediately offered t replace my original two picante (my fav) and said they would include two extra salami for me. The replacement order was sent out immediately and they now have a customer for life. Great product and amazing customer service. Highly recommend this product for dinner parties and conversation starters during the holidays. Thanks again Creminelli!!

Beware of rot/mold from obsolete inventory!
I normally buy this at my local Whole Foods store and it’s always fresh and tasty. The one I received from Amazon was NOT fresh, it had an odd smell when I opened the wrapper, and after cutting off several slices I noticed a grey, fungus-like mass on the inside. It smelled awful and I threw the entire package in the garbage. A waste of money...

Repeat customer - salami was foul and nasty this month.
So I have experience with the product. I always receive this product monthly and order several at a time by subscription over the past year. I've always enjoyed it, and in the past it has always been well within expiration date, a nice dry casing, and tastes great. My order this month is just NASTY! I opened one of them, it was disgustingly slimy, casing sliding off and smelled bad. I said to myself, ok, maybe just one was like this, so I opened another, from a separate order that arrived at the same time, and it was just as disgusting. I looked at the rest of them through the wrapper, none have the white dusted casing and all are slippery within the package, some of the packages were swollen, product off-gassing I have to assume? When I tried to return, it says, sorry product not returnable. I will be sending a message to the seller today, but I am taking this off my auto-subscription. I've never seen such a foul looking and smelling product.

Sweet Surprise
Very mild with non-gamey but wonderful flavor. Savory yet subtle. Don't be put off because it is constructed with wild boar. Because of the diet of wild boar they develop a wonderful yet unassuming flavor that is mild and in the case of this salami not overwhelmed by the seasonings. It is almost a shame to call it salami because of the american association of flavor to our common salami. This is way more understated and naturally more flavorful..... more on the sweet side and without the "hot bite" we often think of when we imagine salami. This was our first purchase of this brand of wild boar salami and they now have a customer for life. Best ever with a flavor that almost melts in your mouth at first then expands with a flavor that begs for just one more bite, then another and another........ Next time I will double my order!

Inconsistent quality
Creminelli can make some great product, but their quality control/consistency sucks. I've order a number of salamis from them on Amazon and I buy them at local stores. The Wild Boar is usually really good, but these two Wild Boar salamis I just received have such a high fat content (this makes them completely bland because most of the flavor is in the meat) ) they will be fed to my dog. I've had the same problem buying this and other flavors/styles from them in local stores- about 1/3 of the time they are sub-par. AND THEY CAN'T BE RETURNED!

Delicious! Just like the wild boar salami that was confiscated at customs
Hubby and I tasted wild boar salami in Italy and fell in love with it. When we tried to bring some back to share it was confiscated (even well-sealed, cured meat is apparently *dangerous* to bring into the US). We ordered this to share with friends and family, and it tasted every bit as good as what we had bought from the butcher at the source. Bravo, Creminelli, bravo!!
