Farberware Cookware Glass Lid 12-inch - Exact Dimentions
I am writing this to provide the exact dimentions of this 12" lid which I recently purchased. The glass lid is fine and I rate it 5 stars because it is a well made lid, and lid requirements are few. I do have a problem with the dimentions listed on Amazon. As I write this, the Amazon product description says it is 16.1 x 12.4 x 4.6 inches. But none of these are correct. Round lids don't have oval dimentions. The actual maximum outside diameter is 12 1/8 or 12 3/16 inches. The other important dimention is what I will call the "drip ring" This is the inner ringthat goes straight down from the glass dome about 1/4' and prevents lid moisture from going to the outer edge. The drip ring diameter is just over 11 5/8 inches. I bought this for a Tramontina 12" fry pan which I love by the way. The Tramontina pan has a max diameter of 12 3/4 inches and the lid fits entirely inside rather than just the drip ring. But is fine in this case. The main thing is the drip ring fitting inside the pan and the slightly smaller lid not dropping too far into the pan. The entire height of the lid is about 2 3/4 inches.

Worked perfectly for my application.
I don't like heating up an entire oven to bake a single stuffed potato, a couple of fish fillets, re-heating a slice of pizza or any small baking task. Neither do I like 'toaster ovens'. They don't bake evenly and leave one portion or another either uncooked or burnt. Mostly, they are hard to clean. Using this lid, I turned my cast iron frying pan into a mini-Dutch oven. Along with an oven thermometer, I was able adjust the electric burner on my stove top very low to perfectly bake small items. This saved a lot of energy. It worked so well, I ordered a 10 inch glass lid from the same manufacturer to turn my larger cast iron frying pan into a Dutch oven. The fit is not perfect, but is close enough to provide a seal against heat escape. For my purposes, this 8 inch and the 10 inch lids are perfect for baking for the single guy.

Slightly large
The 12" lid is a tiny bit large for my 12" pan however it can fit snug if I push it down into the lip of the pan. I just hope it doesn't break when doing so in the future. Knob handle was already assembled which is convenient. For this name brand, it better hold up for a few years.

Fits farberware POTS that originally came with clear lids, (not just PANS)
When I was researching this lid, I didn't find the info I needed, so I'm sharing it now for others.I needed lids to replace the lids from my 4 quart and 6/8 quart farberware POTS, not frying pans.My original pots set, which I have been using to death for over 15 years, came with similar glass lids. 2 of my lids shattered when they fell from a high counter onto my ceramic floor (hey, it can happen to anyone right? and all the other times they fell from not as high heights they didn't shatter so I'm ok with that.) In this set, the 6 qt and 8 qt pots were the same diameter, just one was taller than the other- meaning the same lid fit on both. So all this time I had one lid to switch off between my 6 and 8 quart pots (and the frying pan.) I really liked having see-through lids so when I saw these online, I said I'd give it a try.Turns out they fit my two pot sizes well (smaller one for 4 qt and larger one for my 6/8 qt., obviously). At first impression I felt that they were a tiny drop small- they were clanking around a little too loosely for me, but when I checked the original lids on this set, I saw that they also don't close snugly. So the new ones are a drop looser than the original ones, but none are a snug fit, and my food has been coming out okay for the last 15 years, so I'm going to take my chances. :) With these two pots back in business for cooking things that need covers, I saved myself the need to buy more pots!

Good product
I purchased this lid for my t-fal skillet and it fit perfectly. I like that it is transparent and you can see your what you are cooking. It also cleans up really easily and the knob on top doesn't get hot. I do recommend this product.

Sturdy and fits our 12 " pan perfectly
We needed a new lid for a 12" Farberware fry pan and chose this one. The only thing I didn't think about was the fact that glass breaks if it's dropped or slides out of the drawer. So far so good, but if O had it to do over again. I might chooses a metal lid like the one that came with the pan. Otherwise, it seems to be an excellent lid and saved ne from having to buy a new fry pan.

So far so good
Lo compre para cubrir mi WOK y funciona bastante bien. Mi única preocupación es que truena un poco al usarlo y me preocupa un poco que pueda llegar a tronarse. Hasta ahorita todo bien.

Excellent lid
I use this on a frying pan that measures 12 inches in circumference, and the lid's measurement is exact, unlike some others reviewed on Amazon. It was worth the price because it fits perfectly. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could, because it's not super easy to hold. But it's a great product and I'm glad I bought it.

Nice lid
Nice lid. Solidly built, handles well. The handle is held onto the glass with a screw, which was expected. However, this 10" lid doesn't fit the "OXO Good Grips Pro Nonstick Dishwasher Safe Black Frying Pan, 10"It does fit another pot, so it's a keeper.
