Beautiful Translation, Packaged Beautifully.
The NRSV is not the most popular translation of the Bible, but the 1989 edition is well-written, and adheres quite well to the original Hebrew and Greek. It is in the same translation vein of the NASB, and its close cousin, the ESV. This edition by Zondervam enhances everything about the NRSV text.Quite frankly it is one of the most beautiful of bibles I have owned as a minister. Feels superior in hand, albeit a little heavier than a personal-size bible. The goatskin leather is soft and supple; and the gold gilding, which shows the purple undertones when open is attractive. Three ribbons top it off.Text-wise; easy to read. I have always been partial to single-column bibles, as they read more like a book. The text here is easy to read, as are the side references. Everything is done right inside, making this bible a joy to read and use daily. In many places this product is being closed out due to the updated NRSV text, and can often be found for $100 new. But even at $150 - $200 it is worth the price. Zondervan has nailed it with their Premium Collection, easily matching Schuyler, Cambridge, and Allan with the form and beauty. If you have never experienced the NRSV, I encourage you to check it out. This Zondervan edition is one of the best examples in packaging, and the overall experience is spiritually satisfying.

Love this Bible
I use this Bible in the Pulpit and I love it. The single column format and text matching makes it very easy to read. The ample margins give me space to write dates and Lectionary days for text readings. Three ribbons let me mark places for Old Testament, Gospel, and Epistle readings for the week (we read the Psalms from the hymnal). It's very comfortable to hold and the leather is very supple and soft.

Really great premium bible
This is a really great premium bible for a good price. The quality of this bible can seen by the amount of detail that went into it. The leather is goat skin and not bonded leather on cardboard. It’s a little stiff, but still soft and flexible. One of the best parts is the font size. It’s 10.5 font size. The older I get, the more I appreciate larger font size. I highly recommend this bible to anyone. It will not disappoint you.

Beautiful Bible
Very well made Bible. The leather is a little stiff, and does not compare to a Schuyler, Cambridge, or Allan, but it is also $100 less. Really nice paper - I believe it is 36gsm, or very close to it. Excellent type that is very easy to read. It "feels" a lot bigger than 10.5. I like that it does not have the Apocrypha, as most other NRSV's do. My one and only complaint is that I wish they shifted the text more towards the outside, away from the gutter. I would have preferred less margin space and flat text, rather than having the text slightly curve into the gutter. Also, I would have loved to have seen purple accents throughout the Bible, like purple chapter headings, purple chapter numbers, etc. Still, these gripes are not deal breakers. I do not plan on buying another NRSV Bible after this one!

Tremendous Value!
This is one of the best bibles that I have purchased! The quality is close to Allan and Schuyler. For the price I paid for the premier collection bible, it easily beats the others in value.

Fairly large print, high quality.
The print is good and fairly large, but it could be a little larger. The quality is excellent. And I especially the inclusion of the apocryphal books. It is very fluffy, and hard to hold in your hand. Hand. That's the nature of the leather and that it's made out of. But some people might have an issue with it.

Font readability
Let me start with I LOVE THE NRSV. It is, in my estimation the best version available because of accuracy, (along with The Complete Jewish Bible). However I almost returned it due to print-font and page layout. The references and the body of scripture should have been reversed on the page. The scripture body should be verse by verse on seperate lines with space between verses. As it is set up, it is hard to focus as you read. All the words and lines run together. The font print itself seems different from what we are used to, making it a challenge to get used to. This was such a detriment I did consider returning the bible.Other than the readability, the workmanship of this bible is wonderful. It is well made. The paper is fine. The soft goatskin leather cover is larger than the pages, a nice feature. It is definitely a bible to keep for a lifetime and to pass on to the next generation.I have been studying the Bible since 1961: many different versions. The RSV, NRSV is the most accurate. The NASV has the reputation of being the most accurate, but comparing the original Greek in some verses, they really missed it. Compare 1 Cor. 7:36-38. One word changes the entire meaning. NRSV has it correct. It agrees with Youngs Literal Translation.I do not understand why RSV, NRSV is one of the least popular versions, except that it used the word "maiden" rather than :virgin". The original word is "alma", meaning maiden. Back in those days all maidens were virgins or stoned to death. Zondervan did a great job to make this bible more attractive and hopefully more popular.
