make sure you put it next to a drain

Fairly easy to setup and I was worried about the noise but to me it is average. I am cooling 12x12 space and it works well.

Arrived badly damaged. returned immediately.

Unboxed the unit and took it upstairs to install. I understand why many reviewers were complaining about the hose connector on the back of the unit, it is not the most solid connection on earth and the rigidity of the hose makes upward pressure on the collar, which disconnects it. I fixed it with a piece of electric tape around the contacts of the collar and aligned the hose to reduce the pressure. Alternatively, it would be very easy to drill a small hole and install a set screw (this will probably void the warranty). However, for a refurbished price of $299 and a 90 day warranty I would just wait until the warranty is out anyway. Besides all that, I love this unit! I nicknamed it "The Cutter" because the cold air will cut you in half. I used it in an upstairs unfinished area and ran it on 62 for three days straight. The only break it got was late at night when the temp dropped to about 60 degrees. It made the upstairs feel arctic cold. I am impressed, it is really quiet, installs really easy for A/C usage. You will need a drain and hose if you utilize the dehumidifier mode. If anything changes I will update!

Used this in a large attic bedroom that was unlivable before. Worked great, cooled the room down quickly and had no issues with installation. A little on the noisy side for me but my husband didn't even notice. Love that the louvers oscillate. Had no trouble with keeping up with heat and humidity in Pennsylvania. We now have central air but my parents continue to use it.
