Q: What is the difference between Oreganum Vulgare and oreganum minutiflorum (this oil)?

Minutiflorum is rare and only wild grown, whereas the various vulgare subspecies are abundant and can be wild grown or cultivated from various regions around the world. Many vulgare subspecies are standardized to increase the carvacrol content, however we do not use this practice. Standardized oils compromise synergy, which effects the overall effectiveness/performance of the oil. Research explaining the difference between minutiflorum and vulgare:According to the Journal of Essential Oil Research (May 2006 18(3):244-249), Minutiflorum is "rare and grows only at altitudes above 1500m, on rocky soils, and on only two or three mountain massifs in southern Turkey". "Vulgare ssp. hirtum, Greek or Turkish, is also known as O. heracleoticum, and is a subspecies of the ordinary oregano or perennial marjoram (O. vulgare ssp. vulgare)."

Yes it does; if you use for skin irritations you must mix with a carrier oil, I.e., coconut, olive oil, jojoba, grape seed, etc. if you take orally, also mix with a carrier oil, and you only need a few drops....it’s very potent and strong. You absolutely should mix with a carrier oil first either way.

Current batch 81.95% (expires 2018). A new analysis is performed on each batch annually, so this percentage will change, depending on the batch we are selling when you place your order. We never standardize the oil, so each batch will have a different percentage of constituents.
