NASB, Preacher's Bible, Leathersoft, Brown, 1995 Text, Comfort Print

I love this new bible. I chose to get the cheaper version with the leathersoft cover. The cover is nice, it has perimeter stitching and a gild line inside. It seems to be put together well. Some reviewers were complaining that the hinge was stiff on the premium leather version and it didn't lay flat. I don't think you will find that to be a problem with the leathersoft version. Mine lay flat pretty much straight out of the box. I tried to take photos so you could see that. The gold gilding on the page edges is shiny and well done. It does NOT have the red art gild under gold like the premium leather version does (just gold gilding on this version). The measurements of this bible are 9.75" in x 6.5" x 1". The font is large and easy to read. I like the typeface they chose for their "comfort" print. It is a verse by verse text. It does not have references. The only footnotes are the translators notes. The paper is thick and feels nice. The text is line matched so there is very little show through of the text on the opposite page like you get on some bibles. This is exactly what I wanted--a clean, easily read text. The spine is sewn (instead of just glued) and it should last a long time. I am glad I chose this bible.Now... Amazon shipping of this is another story. It was shipped in an envelope and the box for the bible was damaged on several corners. Amazon should be sending stuff like this in a box not an envelope! The bible inside was undamaged and I decided it wasn't worth sending back over a crushed box.

I needed to buy a NASB for Seminary. I prefer and use the LSB, which I get goat skin or cowhide. I say this to tell you the texture and feel of my LSB’s are well above the normal Bible in make. To me this one was cheap and would work for what I need for school. Well, I was shocked. This Bible feels amazing, it is well put together, and very comfortable in the hand or on the desk. If you want an NASB or are looking for a great feeling Bible at a great price this is it.

Recently, I bought this Bible as I started getting back into the NASB version. I like knowing I'm reading one of the more literal translations of Scripture.STYLEThe style of this Bible is great for daily reading. The “leathersoft” cover gives it a nice soft feel. I like the font used throughout, and the use of Burgundy for chapter numbers and section headers is a nice touch. Aesthetically, this is a great Bible.LAYOUTThe font size is nice. It's relatively large, but not giant. It's not a study Bible, so the translation notes are sparse. The margins aren't very wide, but still enough room to jot an occasional word or small note. There are no maps in the back, which is different from other Bibles I've used. However, there are several different thematic lists in the back for study and life topics.CONCLUSIONAll in all, this is a nice Bible for daily use. I'm pleased and would buy it again.

Love the way it is written, easy to read & understand.This is 3rd one I have ordered.My grandson saw one somewhere a few years ago, wanted one for Christmas. I was looking at it, loved it, ordered one for myself, was telling my best friend’s husband about it, he said he wanted one, that’s the one that will be delivered today!

The Comfort print is so different that it seems to me to be getting in the way of reading. The font serifs are too round. I can't seem to find a good NASB without comfort print. I wish Zondervan would just use a traditional font. Why re-invent the wheel?Update: after reading this Bible for a few months it’s font has grown on me. It’s no longer uncomfortable to read. But it’s actually good, easy to read.

This is a beautiful Bible and I like it even though I'm not a preacher. The typeface really is comfortable on the eyes; my eyes are very sensitive and eyestrain gives me headaches. The words of Christ are not in red which makes it easier on my eyes too. It's just a bit taller and less thick that other volumes so very comfortable to carry.

I love this Bible. I haven’t used it as much because I recently received my new LSB, but this Bible is beautiful. This translation is amongst the most precise and is most definitely readable. I recommend this Bible. There are a few small scratches on the gilding, but other than that, this Bible is golden.

I chose the leather soft cover due to price. I am highly impressed! It grips well. Looks expensive. Lays flat! Nice stitching. Easy to read. Verse-by-verse. Clean. Just what I wanted. 36 paper. Not red letter, and I’m getting used to it. Highly recommend.

Most complaints are people comparing them to a premium Bible. I have a premium goatskin printed in the Netherlands. And for the price difference on this one it’s 5 stars. 36 gsm paper, gilted edged and line inside, nice font and layout, definitely worth the price @ $58!!

Nothing to dislike. I purchased this to get reacquainted with the scripture.
