Marmara Premium Gourmet Holiday Tahini Sesame Sweet Halvas (Pistachio)

Delicious and hard to put down!

I had received the pistachio halvah, and it was just as described. It was loaded with fresh tasty pistachio nut meats, and the halvah itself was quite rich, yet it did not possess an overbearing sickening sweet taste as some halva do. I liked that these folks were generous with the pistachios, and did not skimp in that regard. It was, as I have said, very fresh, not rancid as you might occasionally find with others. Also, this food product has good natural ingredients which I also appreciate. I thought that the old standby, 'Joyva' was good, as well, but the nutritional benefits of Marmara halva surpass Joyva in that regard, as well as the taste. This halvah is so good, that you have to watch yourself, lest you, 'Wolf down' the entire canister of halvah all at once !! Thank you for a fine product, Marmara, and please keep up the good work....P.S.: Gotta' try out your chocolate halvah and your other fine products asap - thanks again, Marmara.

I grew up eating Halvah with my mother. This product was absolutely divine. It had the perfect blend of sweet with honey, sugar, pistachios, and sesame. It is not made with corn syrup which is a good thing.This product came in the box you see in the picture and within the box is a very sturdy plastic container. I was wondering if it needed to be refrigerated after opening but there isn't on the labels. I placed it in the fridge anyways to be safe. This is a product of Turkey.I would recommend to anyone that enjoys a cultural, ethnic foods. This is a different kind of treat and not everyone likes it. It has a firm consistency that melts in your mouth and leaves that sesame film on your tongue. So, if texture is an issue for you, you may not want this product.All in all, this is an excellent product compared to other brands. I will definitely be purchasing this again.

Too sweet and not as good as say the Achva one.

I waited a few months before eating this. The expiration date was still many months away when I opened it, but the inner packaging was covered in grey mold. Sickening.

Too delicious! Haven't had halva in an age. This was so fresh, and the pistachios amazingly crisp.Something is screwy in the ingredient list because ground sesame seeds aren't listed, just sesame oil!At any rate, good smelling, no chemical notes, no rancidity, nothing is off. Just really nice, semi-nutritious candy....Only complaint: the lid on the plastic tub it comes in is ridiculously hard to pry off.

its good for what it is….

I have loved Halva for as long as I can remember. My grandmother always brought fresh Halva home whenever she went to Brooklyn. I went to Israel in Sept and my friends thought I was ridiculous when I bought Halva in East Jerusalem to bring home.I was skeptical Marmara could compare with fresh Halva from the markets but it does.Yes, this is excellent quality, very fresh, delicious Halva.
