Where did they get these unit not made in ten years. Not from MICROLIFE
Model 3NQ1-4W was made over ten years ago and sold at Costco. Where this retailer dragged these up is a mystery since We at Microlife haven't had them in stock in years. This is not being sold by Microlife. If you bought one of these I advise returning it to the vendor.

Good machine, terrible instructions
Got very high readings by following the directions and lining up the red mark with your pinkie. Instead, line it up with the center of your elbow (i.e., at the base of your bicep) with your palm up. Doing that the readings were much more in line with the ones I got from my doctor's office.

Combined intelligence and stupidity
I have used a number of blood pressure reading devices in the last several years and stumbled upon this one.***** for the ability to detect pulse anomalies, which is very important to family members that might have tachycardia.* for demonstrating stupidity by lacking an off switch. You must remove the batteries as well as disconnect the power cord in order to shut it off for storage. If you leave the batteries in, any slight pressure against the storage case will cause the unit to start pumping air in an attempt to measure blood pressure. If it wasn't sad it would be funny. It is certainly annoying to have to pull the batteries out so that the unit turns off to avoid battery drain and corrosion and the corollary annoyance of having to load the batteries each time to use it.This is the kind of device that gives smart people a bad reputation. Brilliant technical features without any common sense at all, combined in one package. Like ALL these devices proper fitting over the artery is key to getting an accurate reading.
