Lanacane Maximum Strength Anti-itch Cream, 1 oz., 2in1 Fast Acting Itch Relief and Kills Germs

I've used this stuff for years and I like it for it's main purpose which is anti-itch and anti-pain. It contains a good antiseptic that kills most surface microbes (including MRSA) but it's not nearly as effective in terms of treating actual infections and stopping infections of wounds, and so I do not recommend it for that purpose when products such as AmeriGel exists which are certified for treating the most severe of trauma and the nastiest of infections. This product does NOT have debriding properties and so it is not advised for use on wounds dealing with substantial necrotic tissue, and the benzocaine in it may actually harm the wound bed and complicate healing. If I have a wound that is likely to be scratched or touched due to itching or pain, I often combine this with AmeriGel for the dressing so that the physical sensations are addressed in addition to treating or preventing infection.

My dog had skin issues (irritation, red skin) and I use this on him to relieve his scratching. It works great. My dog stops his scratching giving his skin a chance to heal up nicely. When we put it on him he seems to liek it because it is soothing and lucky us, he doesn't even try to lick it. Maybe he has tried and foudn out it tastes bad, I am not sure. All I know is he leaves it alone now and it does the trick to break the cycle of scratching and red skin.

I got this to help with my ravages/hives. It got here super fast. I just used it for the first time and it seems to have a cooling effect but I’m not too sure about the “Fast acting itch relief” part. I’m going to use it for the rest of the week and see what happens. It got here super fast and was a little banged up but other than that it’s fine.

We have always used this mainly for chaffing and it is wonderful. Can't find it at my favorites stores so I have to order it. Costs way more this way but we love it and use it a lot! I would heal diaper rash overnight, too, but it stings a little so my grands never liked it for that. Works! and we would never do without it around. While on a cruise a cousin (heavier girl) got so chapped she couldn't walk so stayed in her room. We took her this Lanacane and the next day she was doing great and thanked up so much!!!

It's better then the steroid cream I got from my dermatologist. It takes the itch away while it heals. I had a rash and it worked amazing on the rash, better then the steroid as I said. It takes some time to heal a rash, not overnight, but it heals. I works amazing on a itchy problem on the body. I just purchased my 5th tube, Love, love this cream!!!!

Numbs the skin so you can't feel the itch, burn or whatever it is that vexes you. It is a lifesaver for those of is hypersensitive to mosquito and chigger bites. Also helps with light burns (in a small area) and in my case, itchy ears that keep me from being able sleep.I stock up on this stuff . I have a very low tolerance for itching, this stuff has saved me from disfigurement that I most certainly would have suffered from scratching the stupid little bug bites that always seem to afflict me, while my family remains bite free.

I bought this for my daughter who is very allergic to mosquitos. We've been trying everything. She said this cream worksbut only after shes already scratched the bite raw. That's kind of pointless to me. We're trying to find something that makes her not went to itch. I'm sure it is used for other things. My review is strictly a review on how it works for mosquito bored

Have been using it for years-both the cream and the spray can. Works quicker than anything else I have used.Beats any topical on the market including Gold Bond anti itch (which is great for what it's designed to do-I use it also)It's designed to be a quick first aid, and that is what it does. I have not found it to be a long term healer.
