Pro Eagle 8" Floor Jack Extension

Disclaimer - did not buy from Amazon - got a better price elsewhere.I have a relatively new HF 3 ton rapid lift low profile jack. Max lift on the jack is approx 19". I bought the Jack extension and the Pro eagle base plate (on the pro eagle site is listed a "Lift Pad PE-EXTBM" )If you look carefully at the extension photo. there are 4 lugs on the bottom of it. When you mount the extension to the Pro eagle lift pad, you rotate the extension piece maybe 15 degrees, which locks those 4 lugs under the ledges on the top of the Pro eagle lift plate. (There are no ledges like that on the lift plate on the HF jack). That locks the extension to the base plate (and hence to the jack itself). This is absolutely necessary - I certainly would not like the idea of a 5-8" extension NOT being securely locked to the jack.........In my case, the pro eagle lift pad locating hole was really close to the size of the mount on the HF jack (Pro eagle Lift pad hole was very slightly smaller) It took less than 2 minutes with a rounded metal file to get it to fit perfectly, and then screw in the lift plate retaining bolt from the HF jack.The extension and lift plate are very solidly built. No worries there.Now I can lift my Civic Si and my Acura MDX SUV with the same jack. Common sense says - use sturdy jack stands suitably rated for the cars weight or other safe means to support the vehicle in the air BEFORE working on it /under it...! The 6 ton jack stands (I bought the Pro lift 6 ton jack stands ones on Amazon) will go up to 23" lift, which for me is plenty and I can get the cars high enough to place the stands with the extended lift capacity jack. Work safe!!
