Well engaging step wise instruction
Father of 11 year old smart kid who would rather watch you tube or play iphone games then focus on learning (cant blame him).Encouraged programming his own game and yes many you tube videos exist etc but it never stuck. Bottom line is the beginning , setup and instructions can lose interest quick before getting to see the fun and proud moments of the end outcome of work. This product course structure or presentation actually and brilliantly had enough little funny clicks or side animations to keepy sons young mind focussed on the steps while reading instructions, and each step designed with “reward” big enough to want him to take next step.Son started this 5pm yesterday, had to tell him to stop at 10 pm as he was as hooked as is notmally to devise but for good reason and to this program. Apparently took computer to school to work on it after school and in car ride. He finished pong game before the second afternoon home and is now struggling with what fin to do next.Bottom line is for at least the day but i believe for a while, a negative addiction replaced with a positive learning focu and addiction. From awful to great. All of this because they put in instructions enough “engagement” to keep him on track.Nicely done. All schools should take this as playbook. The “scratch” and others never got him near as engaged. He is proud, having fun, and learning the concepts in a way can be used for real.

at age 12 - finally learning the real thing, coding as a language.
The program was challenging, which is EXACTLY what I was hoping for when I purchased it for our son (12). The many other classes he's taken have been fun, but not an intellectual stretch for him. With the help of this course, our son transformed a loosely-held "extra-curricular activity" into a serious personal pursuit, completing both the java game lessons & also his first ever HTML Website.TWO THINGS:1) Don't let yourself get stuck. I highly recommend use of the support services offered with the course: live chat, email, weekend teacher sessions. The format is similar to an online college course an adult might take. (online classroom navigation is another skill I'm happy my son has learned). For us, once my wife and I felt comfortable with the LiveChat support team, we encouraged our son to reach out directly to them as he pursued completion of his online lessons.2) I found that our previous efforts to get our son typing these last 2 summers was invaluable coming into this course. The course doesn't have typing as a prerequisite, however our sons basic keyboarding skills made step-wise progress readily attainable. He's not a quick typist, for sure, BUT he is confident at his "8-10 words per minute"... which helped a ton. While the course strives to be kid-friendly, it DOESN'T water down the reality of coding as a language. My son is proud of the work that he's done toward learning these computer languages. He loves showing HIS website to people... especially when they look bewildered about his expressed interest in coding. There's something fantastic about my kid helping a grandparent pull up a website that he literally created-from-nothing on the grandparent's iPhone.

Good, instructive fun!
Basically, I love this - the web site is super responsive and clearly well-coded. The tasks easy to implement and a great learning tool. I recommend heartily. I am learning, and I've got a much better sense of coding than the intended audience. Creative gaming an excellent way for children/newbies to learn - indeed! My only two minor complaints are user interface/experience in nature. The flash drive provided has no explanation and I spent a bit of time wondering what was on there and how to launch. It's intended to be blank, a shuttle drive, and a simple note would have sufficed. Similarly, once you arrive at "My Courses" online, there is no intuitive way to know that the courses are located in a folder in the left column - it is not self-evident. A simple icon or statement indicating that would have been helpful. Not enough to even be much of a concern, just a couple user experience improvements that are easy to implement.

Great program to get kids into coding.
Got this for my 10 year old son to use who has also has tried other coding products in the past. He has gone through lesson one of this so far and says he really likes coding for kids better than the other coding products he has used in the past. My husband is a computer programmer who codes daily for his job and sat with my son for the 1st lesson and he said himself this is a great program to get kids into coding.

Great for teens & the best customer service!!!
My sons have been wanting to learn coding for a long time, so after doing my research I finally decided to try this one out. My 13 y.o is very happy and he has been able to complete the first lesson all on his own. He says he likes it a lot and he is asking for Phyton for when he finishes this course. My 12 y.o is about to begin the course but I'm sure he won't have any issues either.I also want provide a 5 ⭐️ review for the superb customer service I have received from the company (I believe from the owner but I'm not 100% sure) . He has replied to all my emails and has been very supportive every time I have a question. Thank you!!

So disappointed.
Wow. I am so disappointed with this purchase. I am sick that I spent so much money on it. There is no way my ten-year-old is going to use this program to learn to code. It is basically reading pages and pages of instructions. She could have googled "how to code" and gotten this kind of information. I spent some time in the first lesson and even I felt pretty lost and confused. Frankly, it would take more focus than I have to use it (and I'm no dummy in general, I graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of science degree at nineteen years old). This isn't engaging, intuitive, or interesting. You would have to have an exceptionally focused and motivated kid for them to learn anything from this. I'm shocked at all the great reviews. I guess my only hope is that in a few years, she'll be more interested and ready and will be able to use this. I'm confident there are better programs out there. Even the free ones we've used online until now have been worlds better than this.

Great course!
My almost 11-year old son is able to do it by himself mostly but did use the live chat on few occasions and it was very efficient. I like that he can do the course at his own pace, stop for few days and then continue with the next lesson. He cannot unlock a new lesson unless the previous has been finished. The concept and the course content are great!
