Yogasana Non-Slip Yoga Mat Thick 72" Ether - GOTS Organic Cotton

Overall I really like this yoga mat. I'm keeping it, but I'm not sure if I would have bought this if I know what I know now. The thing that made this mat appeal to me were all the reviews saying how much grippier it was than regular mats and how nice the material was. The mat is very high quality and the color is very vibrant and it is definitely gripper than a cheap yoga mat. I wouldn't say it's got the best grip, though. I recently tried a friend's BMat and liked it way more than this one. In poses like down dog I have to keep my hands and feet a bit closer than I want or I'll slide down the mat while holding the pose. I have similar problems in straddles and warrior poses. It's management but it gets frustrating after a while. If you do a lot of more "athletic" yoga I don't know if this is the mat for you. It will also slide around on the floor if you have wood floors which means I still have to keep a foam mat around to keep underneath it.Where this mat really shines is for more relaxed yoga like yin yoga, and doing yoga outdoors. I bring this to park when I want to stretch outdoors or do yoga with friends and it's perfect. I also love using it for doing yin or restorative yoga because the feel of the material is nice and helps cushion your joints from the floor.TLDR: I recommend this mat but with some reservations, I don't think it's for everyone but its definitely way better than your standard mat.

I have an electic daily yoga practice. I typically do a personal practice every morning that is either yin or a moderate slow hatha practice of my own. I also do vigorous vinyasa practices at the studio several times a week. I love the yogasan cotton mat for power vinyasa practices where I sweat and slide on my synthetic mat. It is far superior to a yogi toes mat cover. I originally purchased one saffron yogasan cotton mat, but after using it several times I wanted a second to have available when my saffron was drying after laundering it. I purchased an earth tone yogasana cotton mat and now have one in my car ready for a studio practice and one in my home yoga room. The feel of the heavy cotton fabric is just nicer than synthetic. I still have a synthetic mat under the yogasan mat, but use the cotton mat on top.

It’s hard to find a descent cotton mat. The right thickness is what makes it fantastic. Thickness is about 5mm or 1/4”. I use it on both, a hardwood floor, and on the carpet. It’s a nice thick and sturdy weave, so I expect it to last a long time. The saffron color is beautiful. I’ll get a second one to keep at work or in the car. Thank you

I wasn't sure what to expect using a cotton mat but wanted something other than PVC for environmental reasons and because I tend to slip on PVC. The Yogasana mat solved the slipping problem and I appreciate it's low environmental impact. The mat is comfortable against my skin and there is no rubber smell. All in all I'm very pleased with the purchase.

Love that this is a natural fiber mat. Feels great on bare feet. Also love that this company creates a handmade artistic mat with respect to workers and for other great causes - truly in the spirit of yoga. Skip the plastic mats and try this one.

Very beautiful cotton rug. Washed it once so far and it still looks great! The only downside is that it is a little overpriced.

This is the perfect eco friendly yoga mat, especially for outdoors yoga!!
