Dungeon World Paperback – 1 Mar. 2013

I remember a feeling when the D&D 3rd edition came out and the wow-effect when comparing the rules to those in the 2nd ed. How marvelously simple they seemed! Recently started to think if the rules could even be more simple while the not compromising the atmosphere or role playing aspects and came across Dungeon World and now I am preparing an adventure to test it. So far though, I love the book! More simple moves-system instead of intricate Skills+Feats, no initiatives and much less rolling in combat, fronts for the GM to manage the game, a lot of tips and examples to name a few things. But there are (as expected) a lot of familiar things as well. So all-in-all, I am very excited!Still, the system is not simple enough to play with small children. So for that purpose I am also considering Basic Fantasy.

Innovative rpg gaming system, simple to master and versatile. Only one small criticism - there are no character sheets included BUT they are free to download from the Dungeon World web site. The book contains everything roles-wise needed to play and no supplements are necessary although they are free to download if desired.

Best way to get into RPG tabletops without overwhelming rules to learn. Really informative, and great artwork. Highly recommend!

Great item. But the delivery took a bit more than expected.

Such a great alternative to D&D only thing that I found awkward, is when the rules state roll+X you have some digging to find the dice rolled are 2d6.It really needs that placed front & center in bold!Apart from that, it feels a very polished product.

If you're old enough to have fond memories of pen and paper role playing games and you want to get back into it or if you're a youngster who fancies an old school analogue experience away from the Play Station then you're going to love this! The rules are great and easy to learn and perfect for budding adventurers everywhere.

Dungeon World is an immediately interesting RPG. Rather than try to suit all kinds of games, the system is an attempt the capture the iconic feel of classic dungeon delving, using a beginner-friendly fiction-first approach. In my opinion, it succeeds.Of note is a detailed section for GMs that contains a lot of advice I wish I'd read when I was starting out playing RPGs, but instead had to learn by experience.
