Under the Sea (Feels Real Books) Board book – February 1, 2006

This is an okay book. The idea is great, but the execution is disappointing. Most of the photos, including the seal on the cover, are very low-res and blurry. They should've gotten better quality images, especially for the large ones. Also, it's a very short book - there are only 5 spreads, so 5 animals. I wish there were a few more pages and animals. And a creepy thing not shown in the product image here - the cover actually has a large hole cut into it, where the seal's mouth would be, and through it you can see the grey fur texture of the page underneath it. That grey fur belongs to another seal on the page underneath. I have no idea what they were thinking... Why would there be fur inside the cover seal's mouth? Without the texture, when you open the cover, the hole looks like an open mouth; I pretend like the seal is yelling and that amuses my daughter. I just don't know why his mouth is filled with fur, unless he just ate one of the grey seals from the next page (which real seals do, but it's not their most charming characteristic). I feel cheated because there's no hole in the product image and I didn't know I was going to get one with a hole. The textures themselves are good though - more creative than the usual set you get in touchy-feely books. Overall it's a good book, but it could've been much better.

This book was just what I was looking for my nephew of 1 and a half. It is one of those books that have hands on textures areas for young children to feel the texture of what that animal/object feels like in real life.

This book is adorable my two-year-old son loves ocean animals it's great sitting with him and going through the story and pointing out the sea animals he gets so excited

My child loves this book! We are an ocean loving family, so I was very excited to show this book to my little one. It was a real hit. The touch and feel fabrics feel pretty close to real.

I wish there were more different textures, but I know my son will love it anyways.

I like the "feels" details in this series. There is some variety, not just flocking on a page or two. I also like how the text in this series teaches words that describe the different textures.

This whole series is just great. Babies love the colours and textures and they become excellent First Reader books later on too!

Cute book to teach little ones about sea animals. Good to bring on a trip to the aquarium
