Uses Thermal Shield Technology to ensure maximum protection Superior Protection for Your DSLR Superior protection is key to the Kata design philosophy. The creation of TST (Thermal Shield Technology) is a physical expression of this philosophy. TST is modeled to create protective zones where your camera will most likely be impacted. Impact force is distributed to ensure that your camera remains safe and always ready for that important scene or shot. The 3N1 is also designed with reinforced corners to ensure that when in sling mode, the bag holds its shape to ensure your camera does not fall out. Fast, One Handed Camera Access with Quick Release Buckle When in sling mode, quick access to your camera is provided via a quick release clip with single pull opening of the camera compartment door. Pinch the clip and pull and the zippers easily slide to offer one-handed access to your camera. Easy access means you are always ready when the action happens and need to capture that perfect shot on the fly. Rain Cover Provides All-Weather Protection Included with each 3N1 model is a sturdy all-weather rain cover. You never know when Mother Nature will throw you a curve and you need to be prepared. This rain cover wraps around your entire sling / backpack ensuring that your valuable gear is protected. The bright color also reflects sunlight to keep your rucksack and sensitive digital equipment cooler in hot locations. Optional InserTrolley (KT VG-DTS) for Easy Traveling Both the 3N1-20 and 3N1-30 have a sleeve for use with the Kata InserTrolley (Model KT VG-DTS) or most luggage trolleys. Recently on a trip
Although I had the backpack for almost six months, I didn't have the opportunity to make the most of the backpack. I recently went on a 2 week stay in UK, walked a lot, took a lot of photos, I loved it.Changing lenses in the middle of something? No problem! Setting up for a tripod session in a cold and windy situation? That's easy. I use a Nikkon 3000. Here is my inventory: the 18-55 default lenses, a prime 50mm, 70-300mm (this one is big), one wide angle adapter and some filters, cleaning equipment (air, liquid, brush), remote, the charger, some spare memory cards.I'm no professional, but l like to get fun taking photos and feeling well, like I have all in control. I even got the opportunity to use the rain cover and its perfect! Tired of carrying it with one shoulder? Change the setup! The handle gets its own uses when you change transports. Sometimes you need to carry it with one hand and the handle is perfect. The zippers feel good even when you force them and twisting yourself looking for that small item you know is in the other side...I was reluctant to buy a specialized backpack (I had a simple shoulder bag before), but I think Kata's design was very effective, every feature has an use. I am a satisfied customer.

Very good walk around backpack
Pros:+ Very good size for a walk around bag+ High quality construction+ Seems durable (haven't had it for too long yet)+ Perfect for travel+ Holds a lot for the sizeCons:- Some stupid design decisions make interior arrangements difficult- No space for a tripodThis bag can hold a lot. I have in the bottom main camera compartment:1x Nikon 85mm prime 1.8D1x Nikon 35mm prime 1.8G1x Nikon 55-300mm VRII telephoto1x Tokina 11-16mm 2.81x Sigma 18-50 2.8 (currently attached to camera bodyIn the top is an SB600 with Stofen Omni-bounce in the protective case. This is a surprising amount from what I had expected. Basically, whenever I travel, I can now carry all my important lenses with me in a small, lightweight bag (only 2.9lbs unloaded). This is significantly lighter than many bags which can hold the same amount. There is a downside however, it's that the interior compartment configuration is not what the pictures show. It's difficult to access the two top lenses sections. Furthermore, it can be quite a tight fit. Currently, I have the two Nikon prime lenses in those slots. The bag seems to be of very high quality. I like that the straps can be removed and tucked in for air travel. That makes it so nothing snags accidentally. Also, when out in cities and sitting at a table, the straps can be undone and clipped to the chair leg/back/table, etc so that someone can't just run up and grab your bag. This itself is a nice benefit of having the adjustable sling/backpack options. As a reference, I also also have the Lowepro Fastpack 100 (which was my first bag, but now I've clearly outgrown it) and Lowepro Pro Runner 350 AW (which is a great bag that holds all my gear for a photoshoot). Some other bags I've had to compare the Kata 3n1 20 against:Tamrac Aerospeed 75 (cheap build quality. The strap connections are flimsy and there's a weird textured grip on the straps. It wasn't good)Amazonbasics DSLR bag (very good for the price, but it wasn't good enough for a long term solution. For the price under 50, it's a good buy)Tenba Shootout Medium (excellent exceptional build quality. However, the fast access side pockets made configuration a problem, and it doesn't hold a 13" laptop comfortably. It's also very heavy. But if you're looking for a bag that's best, bar none, for rugged travel, the Tenba can't be beat)Lowepro Prorunner 350 aW (big bag with lots of space. It's not going to be comfortable to take for frequent shoot. I use this as my photoshoot-carry-everything-i-need-all-the-time bag).Overall, the Kata 3n1 20 is a very good size for urban travel or day trips when you don't need to bring every little accessory with you.

Very comfortable camera bag
I bought this primarily because of the flexibility of the straps on it. I liked the idea of a sling, but I also like a standard back pack for longer hikes, and didn't want to be locked into that as my only option. Since this give me both, I can pick and choose which one to use for what type of event I am going to. It fits nicely in either configuration, and never makes my shoulders feel fatigued. This one is just the right size for the equipment that I carry, so you can judge for yourself if it will work for you. I can't compare it to other bags since I haven't used them, but I really like this one. I plan on getting a better long range lens eventually, so I will remove the 75-300 and put the new one in its place.I carry the following items in mine:Canon T3i with 18-135mm lensCanon 430EXII flashCanon 75-300mm zoom lens (old one I don't use much)Canon 28-80mm zoom lens (another old one. Used for reverse macro)Two extra camera batteries with chargerExtra flash batteries with chargerGiotto Rocket dusterVarious lens cleaning toolsRain cover for the cameraFew other small items

Stiff little bag for small camera kit ensemble
The bag is attractive and has enough room to accommodate a DSLR and its kit lens or two plus a [typical] hot shoe flash. What I did obtrusive and cumbersome was accessing the camera, et al, from the sides. The additional "flap creating" quick clips hindered more than helped.I also found the zippers were not smooth when unzipping or zipping up the flaps. As an events photographer I find myself having to switch lenses, or take out other accessories like a flash, and I don't have time to sit there and struggle with a bag that wants to keep from grabbing that lens or flash. The top and side zipper compartments were smaller than I would have expected; the padding seems to compromise some of the room therein.Overall this is a functional, albeit somewhat limited, camera bag. For the casual person wanting to carry a few accessories and their DSLR this bag will suffice.I returned the bag and will be ordering something with a little more room to accommodate bigger lenses in addition to my DSLR and other accessories.
