Mixed seed barn style post mount feeder with 14-pound capacity. It has a convenient flip-top for easy refill. 14-1/2-inch w by 11-inch h by 17-1/2-inch l. Stovall products feature all cedar construction, stainless steel and dichromate plated screws, washers, hooks and chains, hand sanded, assembled with screws, many products coated with wood protector which accents the wood grain and the natural warmth of cedar. Environmentally green practices – hand sorted down graded lumber. The Shop is heated with scrap wood, cooled with natural shade and insulation, nestled in a glen among 25+ acres of beech/maple/oak forest. Rumored staffing of woodland gnomes with a payroll of nuts and berries is still not factual.

Good quality feeder
Got this feeder to replace an old feeder that we had used for many years. The feeder was exactly as represented... the price was competitive and the delivery right on time. The feeder itself is very well built and should last a long time. I did give it a coat of exterior wood sealer before putting it into use to hopefully add a little more time to its good looks and usability. The plexiglas may have to be replaced with real glass in the future, as I had read in another review while researching this purchase. I mounted the feeder on a 5/8" metal/iron feeder pole and as long as the pole is "plumb", it will handle the weight of the feeder (and birds... and squirrels) when full. When the warmer months arrive, I might consider going to a 4x4 post to give more sturdy support, but it isn't necessary. I did consider the larger Stovall feeder (5F?), which is supposed to hold 25# of seed, but I'm sure that would have been a problem for the metal rod type pole. The feeder is working really well. The opening in the top for loading the seed is a little smaller that our previous feeder, but we have found that if we use one of the square shaped plastic cat litter pails, the flat side of the pail fits nicely on the top edge of the feeder, allowing us to refill the feeder with a minimum of effort... and spillage. We are very happy with this feeder.

Fantastic Feeder at a Great Price
THis is an awesome bird feeder and appeared on my doorstep exactly as advertised. Instead of buying mounting poles, I bought a length of 3/4 in. threaded galvanized pipe and a threaded flange. Mounted the flange to the bottom of the feeder, used a small auger with my hand drill to drill the hole, stuck the pole in the hole, threaded the flange mounted bird feeder to the top, and voila! I also used cup hooks and attached a suet basket to each end of the feeder since the ends are plenty large enough. The feeder holds a lot of seed, keeps it really dry in wet weather, and is easy to fill using the flap at the top of the feeder. I may install a hook and eye or some loop and hook material to the flap because it doesn't always want to lay perfectly flat, but it has not blown open in the month that I have had it installed. If you have lots of wild birds and don't want to keep refilling the feeder every day, this is probably the feeder for you! Also a great value compared to some of the specialty reatailers selling the same item.

I bought this for my parents for Christmas and they love it! The feeder is large enough that they don't have to fill it quite so often, which is great considering they live such busy lives and it snows nine months of the year where they live. I only give it four stars because I thought it could use some better packaging, the only thing between the feeder and the box was a few pieces of brown paper. Even though this product is very well built one of the boards was a little loose when it arrived in the mail, while it was an easy fix I wonder how it would've held up if it had to be shipped farther than one state away.

Attractive, durable, heavy-duty bird feeder
Although this feeder looks almost identical to my previous one (which was worn out), the ridge down the middle inside is higher and the seeds don't flow down so the birds can reach them unless you keep the seed level high. I have to rake them down with a stick every day. Also, needs a bottom piece to screw it down to a base. Otherwise it is satisfactory, sturdy, and will last for years and my raccoon can't open the top and get inside!

Squirrel Feeder???
This is the second one I have purchased. I fill it to feed the "birds" (read "squirrels") and the little bastards have eaten the wood next to the glass and I'm afraid it will fall out eventually. As my girlfriend says, my squirrels are baaad!!!

Poor Workmanship, Poor Quality Control, Poor Packaging
Marshall -- wish I had seen your Feb 2015 review earlier. We ordered this item, based on all of the 2013 and 2014 4- and 5-star reviews. Something bad looks to have happened in 2015. Our experience is much similar to yours. Screws either missed wood or are way off the mid-line of the wood. The feeder arrived in a huge box that showed NO external sign of damage. Inside, the feeder was only loosely wrapped in 2 or 3 meters of kraft paper. It had tumbled about and the perch (railing) was broken loose from the feeder body. Where it had broken, the wood about the screws was broken out. Only one of four screws had held. As in your experience, one of the plexiglass panes was out of its grooves.Oh, I'll fix it all.(300,000 Red Chinese coming over the Hill. "Sarge, my rifle's jammed -- can I send it back to Springfield for a replacement?" "No! FIX it! If you can't fix your rifle. Fix your bayonet.")

3/4 Cedar Material assembled with screws, not Staples with a staple gun.,
It is not mention in the description but it is made of 3/4" cedar with screws, not the typical staple gun assembly that required reinforcement to with stand the weather. Excellent craftsmanship, looks like it will give years of service.Food is put in through a 2.5" top part of the roof that is mounted on hinges at the top roof line. It is visible in the photo if you look for the hinges at the top of the roof line.No doubt this will give years of service and will be easy to modify and repair is needed. May have to tighten the screws annually, which a little glue would fix.

The animals love it!!
I received this as a gift for Mother's Day ~ It is pretty big and it has a nice rung for birds to perch on if they wish. The sparrows still kick out what they don't want and the squirrels are waiting below ;-) We have the best squirrel baffle ever on the pole that supports the feeder. It is easy to fill and we love watching all the activity.
