Philmore Telephone Recording Pickup Coil Suction Cup Microphone, 5-ft Cord

Gonna use this at work to record important information calls to help with keeping track of stats. Hopefully to cut down on post it's. Lol

It does what it's supposed to, but the unit I received is not the unit pictured.I use these induction pickups to record EM fields emitted by electrical devices, to be used in experimental musical compositions. I paid a few dollars more for this unit because the picture showed a very compact housing. I have several different form factors, each with their unique audio attributes, and this one looked different, so I purchased it to add to the variety. However the one I received is of the most common type, which can be had for about $3.00 less on Amazon. It does function as described, but is not the unit shown in the photo.1-star deduction for photo inaccuracy, 2nd star deduction for charging $3.00 more for a $5.00 device.

OK manufacturing, but not best in class...Was reprurposed as an EM sensor and did what was needed.

Worked as Advertised

Unit did record but it must have been my phone because it was very low volume. I used it on a folding type phone not the old standard type.

This microphone uses a "mono" jack. One needs a mono-to-stereo adapter plug to get it to work on computers/sound boards.Had I seen this detail, or thought of it, I would have bought the adapter too.I recommend the seller put this on his ad and offer to sell us the adapter too!This could explain the negative comments for this product. I mean, who remembers mono? Today "man kicks robot dog!"

The suction cup doens't work. The cord is so short that it limits device options. I have yet to successfully use this device.
