Rubschlager Bread, Sunflower, Rye, 16-Ounce (Pack of 6)

My local Publix store stopped carrying this bread and it really irked me....But, of course I was able to find it on Amazon...:) If you are European like me, you probably don't like the "fluffy" breads here in America. This is the closest I have come to the simple, good rye breads of my home country...with only a few ingredients that you can understand what they are...:) Great for an open faced sandwich with some delicious mackerel in tomato sauce...:)

I’m sorry that this is a very late post. I bought this bread for a friend of mine that is a business traveler. Once I received the rye bread I immediately put in the freezer. It’s few and far between that we see each other. This is the first time since that I have seen him. We talked about the rye bread, and he stated that it was all moldy when he got it out of freezer. He didn’t want to tell me since it was a gift. I understand that it is to late for a refund or at least a chance for new bread. So my rating is a one star. Thanks

I am very disappointed to see that a new ingredient (cultured corn syrup solids) has been added to this otherwise healthful bread. It has only been added recently (on the order I just received), and as long as it contains this additive, I will no longer order it. I avoid ingredients that resemble high fructose corn syrup, so they've lost a good customer.

The bread is extremely dense and excellent I think the black bread is the best. It has to weigh twice as much as normal rye It's an experience you will not forget. I used to buy it at a deli 20 years ago but they went out of business Today you can't find it anywhere only on Amazon Too bad you have to buy 6 loaves at a time

The only supermarket close to my home (Weis) that carried Rye-o-La Sunflower Bread just discontinued it. Closest market carrying it now is 30 minutes away. I was very happy to be able to order a supply from Amazon at a great price. This is a great whole-grain bread that's wonderful in a variety of ways - with peanut butter, smoked fish, cheese and tomatoes and other ingredients. I've been eating it regularly for six years and am a confirmed fan!

we had been buying the pumpernickel version of Rubschlager for many years, it does not seem to be available any longer, and the sunflower version is falling apart when you try to put cheese or other things on the slice of bread. This was ;probably the last time I ordered it.

I like this bread, and used to buy it at my local supermarket. Recently, they stopped carrying it. I am gluten intolerant, but I can eat this bread, so I was happy to find it on Amazon. My only complaint is that because I am buying six loaves at a time, I need to freeze them, and they tend to break apart a bit in the freezer.

I love this bread. It is whole rye, 4 gr fiber,, 3 gr protein in one slice. I always toast it and it tastes so good plus it is very filling.And no sugar at allBut it is very hard to find in supermarkets so I was quite pleased to findI could order it through Amazon
