Great little brush
Great brush. Holds a ton of paint and water. It blends the paint perfectly on paper. Has a nice sharp point. This is my first quill brush and I’m still learning exactly how it’s used but so far I’m really enjoying it.UPDATE: so it’s been awhile since I’ve bought this brush. I’ve learned a lot and this brush is my #1 favorite!! The number #2 quill is perfect for my fondness of painting on a smaller scale. I also have the size 0 and these two brushes are my go to’s. The paint has chipped from below the ferrule but in my opinion it gives the brush character. The bristles of the brush still perform perfectly well. I’ve certainly gotten my money from these brushes and wouldn’t hesitate to buy them again if ever needed.

super brush
I saw a bunch of people doing instruction in watercolor on YouTube using this style of brush and wanted to try one. I was happy it was synthetic not only because the natural ones cost so much but I just like synthetic brushes in general. Anyone who paints with watercolor or ink should have one -they just do a lot of stuff other brushes don't, in particular they hold a lot of paint and are extremely expressive. If you're serious about getting better skills these are great. Addendum: A month down the line, I use the brush with some acrylic ink and forget to wash it. Then I pick it up and my heart sinks -I've ruined it. I decided to try and wash it, although I was sure it was ruined. Some hand soap and careful rubbing and it's 100%. Amazing.

Beautifully made!
This has become the brush I am reaching for the most. Love that it holds so much paint and retains that tip! Wonderful tool and so well worth the price. I'll be purchasing more over time. Thank you!

Excellent first quills
I bought the casaneo quills in sizes 0 and 2. They arrived in good condition inside plastic sleeves with protective packaging around the tips. They soak up lots of water, snap back to a point, and easily produce different brush strokes/shapes. A pleasure to use. My new favorite brushes.

Great buy!
Great mop brush. Keeps a nice tip and loss of water for washes. Could be used as a single brush. This one is much better than my Raphael #2 softaqua. Buy it you’ll love it!

Best watercolor brush I’ve used.
I’m a beginner, but this is The best brush I have! Amazingly soft and silky. Paints beautifully. Able to do thin and thick lines. Take good care of it so it lasts long. Wash with water before use. Would like to have more of these with time.

Impressive
I have been using sable and synthetic sable for watercolor for decades. Over the years, for that snappy point and bounce that sable should have, I've come to find some synthetics just as good. However, synthetic squirrel is another story. As I've been doing more loose work, I've been using Chinese ink brushes and Princeton's Neptune series brushes. But, the Neptune really does have more snap to it than a squirrel should have.I am very impressed with this brush. The quill is very thirsty - holds a lot of water and a lot of paint. It holds its point so well that I am stunned. I can use it loose, then pick it up and use the point for fine detail without hesitation.I found using this brush to be such a pleasure that I want more sizes! Only downside? The price. Right now these brushes actually cost more than DaVinci's squirrel brushes here on Amazon. I don't know if those are better. All I know is that in the larger sizes, the price gets pretty prohibitive for me. That is the only reason I'm giving them four stars.I highly recommend the brush if you work in a loose style, if you like ink brushes, and if you enjoy a good point. The quill is excellent; I presume the round is, too. There's only one issue I am concerned about and that's the longevity of the brush due to the nature of the quill's design. I'm afraid the combo of plastic and wood may cause the handle to wear quickly. One last thing - the handle seems much smaller and delicate than any of my other brushes. If you have big hands, you may not be as much of a fan.

An excellent candidate to replace animal hair quill watercolor brushes!!
This quill watercolor brush is an excellent replacement for any animal hair quill watercolor brush. It is a little bit on the expensive side but considering how much watercolor it sops up and distributes it is worth having paid a bit more!!
