We bought this sound machine/nightlight for our toddler who has been getting out of bed at night. The app makes it easy to set the color, and sound and there is even a toddler “lock” so they cannot change what you have programmed. We programmed the sound machine to turn green at 7 so he knows when he can get out of bed. From 6-7 we have the color set to blue so he knows it’s almost morning and he can play quietly in his room if he wants. No more waking in the middle of the night asking if it’s time to get up!

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  First of all, it features 3 different types of sounds with up to 25 selections: Nature (includes drop, rain, wind, fountain, flame, stream, wave, waterfall, wheats, and autumn), Animal (which includes cuckoo, frog, cricket, farm, sheep, napping cat, and seagull), and Sleep (which includes lullaby, white noise, pink noise, fan, vacuum cleaner, wind chime, meditation, and radio).You can manually choose the sound of your interest, turn the light on or off, stop the machine, adjust the intensity of the light (by holding the light button on top and release when it reaches the intensity you want), adjust the volume, set a timer which can be 30, 60, 120, or 240 mins. You also can do all these with the Taotronic app. With the app, an additional feature that it has is you can change the color of the light (it has 5 preset sound-color modes, but you also create your own by choosing the sound you like and the color you want). Also, you only can enable the Toddler Lock function through the app.One important note about connecting the device to your phone through Wifi so that you can use the Taotronic app to control the machine: your phone has to use a 2.4G WiFi!! (It won't work with a 5.0 G WiFi, which happened to me when I first trying to connect the machine (kept showing fail to connect), and it worked after I changed my phone to a 2.4G wifi)There is a WiFi reset button at the back of the machine (right above the power input), you can press the button to turn the WiFi on or off. When it flashes in blue, that means you can try connecting the machine and your phone using the app. And a solid blue color means connected while a solid red color means connection failed/offline.Most importantly, it has a memory function. It automatically memories the sound, volume, and light intensity you used last time, and resumes it the next time you turn it on.Overall, it is a very good device for soothing infants/toddlers as well as for helping ones to fall asleep (especially for those who have sleeping problems)!

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  This light was purchased for my 4 year old who is scared of the dark. The light on the sound machine is bright. You tap the top and the light turns on. You press the play button for the sound to come on. Our favorite is the ocean sounds, but there are several sounds to chose from. The machine has a timer on it they you can set for it to turn off. My 4 year old daughter easily turns on the machine herself. It has helped her sleep at night. I am pleased we found a light bright enough for her room. Excellent product!

I'm giving this a 4 instead of a 5-star review for 2 reasons: 1. you can't schedule a sound back to back. it has to have a minute between the sounds (I do love the ability to at least schedule). 2. there's only one actual lullaby tune. Would have been nice to have at least another option or two. I've only had it a week and am already a bit tired of hearing "rock a bye baby". I like the fact that there's an app and the same device can be controlled from multiple devices. Makes it easy for my husband and I to control it easily. I like the color-changing options as well. I can kind of set it to morning/night colors. The scheduling makes it super easy to know 15 minutes before bed-time for my child, and when it is bed time.

I had a bunch of sleep sound machines that generate white noise or nature sounds over the years as my kids were growing up. Those were all quite utilitarian and had little in terms of features or quality that would make them stand out. This TaoTronics sleep machine is quite different, and in a good way!First of all, as you unbox this product, it feels quite premium -- both the packing materials and the unit itself. I own some other TaoTronics products and always liked their premium feel at fraction of the cost of some other brands.I used this sound machine for a couple of nights now in my kid's room, and here is what I like:- you can use the sound machine with or without connecting it to your WiFi; there are buttons on the machine itself that do most (or all) of the things you need- the process of connecting the sound machine to the App on my phone and to my home WiFi was easy, and took about 10 minutes total- the sound machine looks sleek and seem just the right size- the quality of the sound is very decent! I was actually surprised how well it produces lower frequencies (for the price of the machine, I mean)- unlike our old sound machine, this one does not seem to "loop" the white noise / fan sound, which is very goodMy only "con" with this sound machine is that I wish the buttons would either light up or stand out by touch somehow. Obviously, when using the App to control the machine, buttons do not matter but if you are trying to control it by touch in a dark room, this presents a bit of a challenge until you remember where each button is on the face of the machine.Overall, I am very happy with this sound machine so far!
