This heater will not maintain the temperature. It varies from 66 to 81 degrees while set on 76. It is junk.

That was the one I needed my fish were to cold got this one and the little temperature gage doesn't work

Easy to install and the temperature readout is a plus. (Do not forget to take the plastic divider out of battery area so it actually works)

I set this to 77 as I want my tank around 75-80⁰ F. I left it for 24 hours as it says in the instructions and noticed my tank was still around 68, so I turned it up to 79. Waited another day and my tank was still reading around 67-69⁰. I took the heater out to check it over and there were no obvious signs of damage so I left it in the tank. I decided to do maintenance and make sure my water pump was circulating water well and that the aquarium water was balanced. Everything was fine but in the 1.5 hours I was taking care of my tank the heater never once turned on! I turned it all the way up just to see if it would react and waited about 30 minutes and it never turned on and the temperature probe never showed any change in the temp near the heater. Absolute waste of money and time

Great value for money compared to the stores. I like that I can control the temp as well. So far no issues and I am happy with this purchase.

Runs colder than it says but gets the job done if you tweak it. Numbers also came off the dial after a few months so you couldn’t tell what you were setting it to. Gradually lost power then finally died after about 2 years. Suction cups on the thermometer gave up after a couple months and I just went back to the manual thermometer I already had.

Exactly what works for my piranha tank … Great suction that doesn’t move and temperature is accurate!
