Also kinda chalky and a little nasty, so if possible use a broth or something to “soup” it up.

This should be a five star review. The cream of broccoli delivers a nice flavor without the chalky taste of protein. It's a great way to get protein in without any major difference in taste. Unfortunately, the cream of mushroom recipe has to be this: go to your local grade school. Take a tablespoon of dust from the chalkboard. Go out into the playground and get a tablespoon of dust from where the kids were playing. Go to your local college and ask the chemistry professor to give you a bottle of "mushroom extract" to add. Stir and add hot water. Yes, it's that bad. I added real cooked mushrooms and onions and barely gagged through it.Worse, if you advertise a product as a "variety" and that there are 5 flavors, you expect to get at least 1 of each flavor and a couple of doubles. Nope. I got 3 cream of mushroom, 3 cream of broccoli and 1 cream of chicken. Where is the chicken noodle? Where is the cream of tomato? Was there a sudden pasta and tomato shortage at the factory? Did Billy Bob fail math?Edited: after trying the cream of mushroom, I have to change my review. It's still a one star since there's nothing lower.Do better, BariWise.

Easy to prepare, very tasty.

If you follow the directions and stir until dissolved prepare to never ever stop as this does not dissolve. It will remain as a powder suspended in water. The taste isn't fantastic, but it is edible. I do not have a hand mixer so not sure how well it would mix if you had something like that, but by hand it will never dissolve. As seen in the picture this is what was left in the mug after mixing it as thoroughly as possible in hot water before drinking it.I accidentally did a slightly larger than called for amount of water the first time. I do not recommend that. Use only the recommended amount of water. I haven't tried mixing it with milk so not sure if that would be better or not.

The protein in this soup is amazing but the cream of mushroom has a horrible after taste.

I bought this for a liquid diet I had to be on. None of the various flavors dissolved per the directions. All the little pieces of whatever flavor it was just floated at the top with the protein clumps. I dumped out every cup of it I tried. I would not waste my money on this! (ProtiDiet makes a chicken noodle soup that is 100x better if you really need/want a soup option.)

These diet foods are so overpriced . That being said I like this mushroom soup BUT I add dehydrated mushrooms that I buy here on Amazon to it. 1/4 cup is 10 calories so you can add even 1/2 cup and it will still be only 110 calories total +15 grams of protein.

I usually don't buy things that can't be returned. Not sure how this one slip by me. I would definitely have returned even for a partial refund since I had to use one packet to see how it was. I usually can stomach a lot of things but took two bites of the mushroom soup hoping it would get better and ended up pouring it out. Should have read more reviews. Would have given a zero if available. Sorry guys I rarely give poor reviews but felt the need to stop others from wasting $16 on the mushroom soup.
