This is an oldie but a goodie! I’ve been buying Nordic Naturals products for over 13 years, and this Children’s DHA has been a staple in our home for the past five. I mix it with my children’s liquid multivitamin and get zero complaints—especially impressive considering it’s a fish oil supplement. The strawberry flavor helps a lot, and I love knowing they’re getting the essential omega-3s their growing brains need. The quality is consistent, and I truly trust this company to continue delivering clean, effective supplements for families like mine.

I bought this about a month ago for my 4 1/2 year old who has speech delay and possibly autism and/or adhd. (She’s being evaluated this month) She took the first dose and then stopped taking it after that saying it was gross. I tried it myself. There’s not really a fishy taste although it smells fishy. I waited two weeks and tried it again and now she’s able to do it with a cup of water, taking a sip of the Fish oil, then a sip of water. I’ve also started my daughter on vitamins and probiotics which I’ve been reading is good for children who have either ADHD or autism. It’s been two weeks and with this new regiment, I am noticing she seems more clearheaded and she seems to be able to articulate herself much more in depth and in a way that seems more thoughtful. (Just to be clear she is already very verbal, just doesn’t have a full vocabulary as her classmates and is currently in speech therapy and making strides) I don’t know if these improvements are attributed to the fish oil or to the combination of new things we’ve introduced to her but whatever it is, we are really are seeing a difference. If this is what happens in only two weeks, we’re hoping we see more changes in a few months.

My daughter likes strawberry milk and she couldn’t tell I mixed this in.I also mixed this in yogurt for my son who has ARFID and sensory issues and he couldn’t tell I mixed it in the yogurt which normally he detects and rejects anything I add.I also like the amount of DHA and EPA that’s in this. I trust that this brand for purity and for third party testing. Pretty cool too that they have a bar code to check the lot and verify its purity. This is imperative since we are giving it to children with rapid developing brains. Parents always want a quality product for our kids’ bodies.

I’ve been really happy with the quality of the fish oil itself—it’s high-quality, fresh-tasting, and a supplement I feel good giving my child. However, the packaging leaves a lot to be desired. The bottle has an opaque plastic inner seal that needs to be pulled out by hand every time, which is frustrating and messy. It gets oil on your fingers and raises hygiene concerns, especially when you’re trying to avoid cross-contamination. A more practical and sanitary design Should be introduced.
