Good price, it does the job

They fly open randomly because the flimsy plastic locking mechanism isn't strong enough against the metal spring and is already wearing down after barely a few weeks. The spring is very stiff and difficult to compress unless you have very large hands.

Love these kitchen scissors. I have had them for two months now, and use them several times a day. They are a good size and heft, cut well, and are more than just a regular old pair of scissors that I happen to keep in the kitchen (which is what I had been using). These can handle anything a regular scissor would, but have added features that make them super handy in the kitchen. And it works for both right and left handed folks.The scissors come apart and back together for easy cleanup, but not so easily that they are always falling apart. It is spring-assisted, so it opens right up after cutting, without your needing to work in both directions. The spring assist is neither too tight nor too loose. I love the small lock in the handle: it keeps the blades closed and is immediately accessible to unlock with one hand as soon as I pick up the scissors. I don't use mine for meats, so I can't weigh in on that. They are very good for herbs, salads, and veggies you want to cut right into the pot. There is a notch in the base of the blades for small branches (or bones for meat-eaters). One of the blades has a serrated edge when that is needed, and there is a nifty little box cutter in the bottom of the round handle. The grey parts of the handle are a soft rubbery texture that is easy to grip, even with wet hands.Upshot is, it has everything I was looking for except maybe an herb stripper. Plus, Zyliss has great customer service, so I'm not worried about getting any mishaps resolved should anything come up during the three-year warranty period. Definitely recommend.

Sharp, easy to use and clean

The original one I had was purchased locally from a store, who doesn’t carry them anymore. They were put in the dishwasher multiple times and it cause the spring to come off, making them not work at all.I tried buying cheaper replacements of kitchen shears, but these are the only ones with that spring that makes them work multitudes better. No effort needed to cut through skin or bone. This will be the only brand I will buy, if that needs to happen again.
