West Bend Croquade U11000 Traditional Belgian Waffle Maker, Silver

UPDATE: After using this iron one time, it failed electrically. It kept blowing the breaker and then wouldn't turn on. I had to send it back for a full return. It's a great iron but poor quality. My suggestion is to find another iron. Check out the pictures attached, I made these with the Hamilton Beach $20 iron here on Amazon.This iron is the BOMB!!!! Great waffle iron to make Liege Waffles. The great thing about this iron is. It keeps the heat consistent, its high quality, it changes out irons to make different types of waffles, there is no seam dividing the waffle like you see in many round waffles (because of the seam in common breakfast waffle irons it creates a hard line in the Liege, no good!), you can flip this over, its very stable and cooked/melted sugar doesn't stick to the the non stick irons. Clean up is easy, just pour a small cup of HOT water, make sure to use hot and the sugar boils right off. Dump it out in the sink using a cutting board to keep the iron on because it will be very hot.The waffles I made with this could easily sell for $4.00 at a coffee shop or Oktober Fest beer festival.

This was designed to operate on 220V European. It takes forever to heat up and reheat on 110V.

This is my fourth waffle maker and so far, the only one that manages to make waffles in a consistent, even way. Being Belgian, I'm very picky about my waffles... Grandma's Brussels waffle recipe came out great, as did a recipe I found online for Liege waffles. Wow, so good. I have to say though that the recipes provided in the booklet are off. The Brussels waffle had way too much flour and no yeast and came out heavy and dense instead of light and airy. Taking the waffle plate off results in the waffle maker falling apart. It's a weird design but I got used to it - after all, who doesn't like plates that can go into the dishwasher? Very easy cleanup, even for the Liege waffles. I just soaked the plate in hot water and the burnt sugar came right off.

Update: Do not buy this waffle maker. It completely died after using it very few times, and the manufacturer has not responded to my emails so it was money down the drain. Pretty sure it has to do with the electronics but our house is less than 5 years old so definitely up to code. The problem is with the design of the waffle maker.What I don't like about this waffle maker - tripped the circuit breaker first time we used it. I suspect it uses A LOT of power so make sure your place is wired ok. Also the waffle maker we opened Christmas morning was not new. We were sent a used one, with rust and old batter - yuck, and hugely disappointing. I returned the used one and took a chance ordering again. I wasn't entirely optimistic but the second one was new. I worry about why someone returned theirs after using it.What I like about this waffle maker - makes the best waffles I've ever had, truly. Worth the money for our waffle-loving family, so long as it lasts a lifetime, or close to it. Check out my review for the M003 plate.

Had this item for two weeks and it broke exactly the way others have stated. One morning it made a beautiful waffle and when I poured the second waffle the light when out and it stopped heating. Apparently there is an issue with the thermal fuse inside, but since I had it less than a month, I just chose to return it to Amazon for a replacement. Sad that the manufacturer isn't interested in converting the internal electronics to work on 60Hz. It really makes beautiful waffles while it works.

Unless you want a restaurant Belgain waffle maker, this is really the only option. We regularly make Brussels waffles nad this has the proper large plates. Appropriate for Liege waffles as well, but that is a bit too much sugar for me on a regular basis.

I would like a return. I bought this half of January 2020. The first time I used it, the waffle maker light was not workkng and it was not heating enough. I switched to another outlet and it worked so I was happy. The second time it worked too but right now februari 20th I’m making waffles for the third time for my daughter’s birthday and suddenly light goes out and it does not heat anymore. There is definitely something wrong with the thermostat. All my outlets are working with other kitchen appliances... My daughter will be very disappointed and I don’t see the possibility to return it anymore. Hope they reach out and send me a new wafflemaker!

This waffler worked great for about 6-months. The heating consistency and shape are both stellar for Liege waffles! I was a little disappointed in the quality of the iron from the price. In the end, I got roughly 15 uses out of it. One morning it simply ceased to function. It comes with a 2-year warranty from the manufacturer, however they are non-responsive.

C'est un très bon produit ! J'ai acheté le produit + 2 types de plaques différentes et tous marche parfaitement !C'est robuste et de qualité !Cependant c'est dommage qu'il faille dévisser avec un tournevis chaque plaque pour inter-changer de type de plaque ou tout simplement le nettoyer. Un système tout à la main aurait été le bienvenu... Après chaque utilisation préparez vous à sortir votre boite à outils.4/5 à cause d'un manque d'ergonomie pour enlever et remettre les plaques.

Best iron I've ever owned. Will look forward to purchasing a few new plates. We ended up also purchasing the Heart plate as we love our Norwegian waffles. They make a great afternoon Tea/coffee snack when guest visit.

Two uses and it break, it look like the belgian wafles maker as you can get the same mold but not solid as it for the price and probably US electric side...
