My local store had been messing around with the design of its milk cartons, and none of its decisions were good ones. It packaged low-fat milk and whole milk identically, and changed the colour of the carton caps to white. So now, at home, it was difficult to see at a glance if there was milk in the carton, what milk it was and even if I had put the cap back on. So I wanted a jug. I was looking for a classic jug, one that made my kitchen feel nice and comfy and homey. This ticked all the boxes.

Pretty and definitely well made. So glad I purchased it.

It is exactly what I needed. I use it every morning to heat milk in microwave so that I can make cafe au lait for breakfast at home.

I have this ""thing" about china. I just love it and have many different patterns. The Portmeirion is my favorite now. It is delicate with just enough whimsy to make it special. The celadon also happens to match my kitchen. When I bought my china, the retail store didn't have all of the serving pieces. Imagine my delight when I found the sugar, creamer, and pitcher on Amazon.com and for a reasonable price. The creamer is adorable, and I have it displayed on my baker's rack when it's not in use. If you love your china, you will love this additional piece.

This jug would go with most white or off white crockery. I use it when only need small amount of sauce, or gravy.
