Ridge Tool is a respected name in quality tools and this double flaring tool lives up to the Rigid quality name. Makes perfectly concentric and tapred double flares the first time, every time and, unlike the cheaper alternatives, this one is made in the USA, has a drop forged yoke, self aligning flaring cone and hardned tool steel double flare mandrels.It is imperative that when flaring small diameter brake line, the flaring anvil is clean and free of oil and the brakelines are also cleaned with brake cleaner so the line is tightly gripped in the anvil, assuring a no slip flare (the larger sizes ar all serrated for grip.The only flaring tool that would be even easier to use would be a hydraulic flaring tool for 3 times the price.Unlike other reviewers I never found any issue with clamping the anvil with the yoke. Ther was no need to grip in a vise to insure that the brakeline didn't slip. No issue at all.As with all quality tools, before storing, wipe it with an oily rag or spray with light machine oil to prevent rust.The included tubing cutter is also high quality with a self aligning cutter wheel thats replaceable.All in all, a very well made in USA tool that will outlast the owner.Buy right the first time. All the knockoffs can't align the tubing like the Rigid can. Alignment of the tub is critical to a perfectly sealing double flare and this tool excells in alignment plus it produces single (low pressure) SAE flares.Highly recommended...........

Got tired of the cheap flaring tools you find at the auto part stores. This Ridgid flaring tool (345-DL/150) so far has made perfect flares every time I've used it. It is easy to use and worth the price you pay for it. This tool has already paid for itself. It also comes with a tubing cutter and deburring blade.To get the most out of this tool make sure to debur the inside and outside edge of the cut tube. Also, use a little oil to reduce the friction on the metal surfaces that create the flare.

The 345/150 DL kit is about the highest quality manual flaring tool on the market. The kit includes double lap adapters and a tubing cutter (1/8" - 1 1/8" range)in a fitted case. The flaring bar holds the tubing tight and the flare is concentric. The tool is heavy duty and not likely to break. This is a high quality made in the USA tool. It flares copper, aluminum and soft steel tubing.
