Really sturdy and heavy duty

The description offered for this item "extra strong heavy duty" is a fantasy when it is not not capable of fulfilling its basic function for more than a dozen uses without breaking. Forget the the casing, line and fixing it's the bit at the end of the line that will need your attention. Why? Well, it's a small plastic affair that is designed to stop out side the grey casing on retraction, which it does successfully every time that it is still attached to the washing line. The problem comes when it snaps in two and nothing in the sales pitch gives you a clue except "please use clothes props" - but even they don't help when thatwhich is holding the end of your washing line snaps in two leaving your washing on the ground. They're a neat but useless design because they are NOT strong enough to do their job for a normal wash!

Good, sturdy unit, one of the best I have had. That said, they all suffer from the same problem. The line has to be held and the speed of rewind carefully and slowly controlled. If you don't, it ends up in a knot and you can't fix it because they are sealed units.

Strong and convenient. Easy to install.

Chose more expensive product as described as heavy duty. The line does not hold in keeper washing goes to the ground. Now only seven months old not used in the winter, the plastic end that fits on the hook has snapped. This replaced a previous line SEVENTEEN years old.

They're a neat but useless design because they are NOT strong enough to do their job for a normal wash!

The swivel bracket does not detach from the body so is difficult to fit to a wall. The plastic cover wobbles from side to side when not in use and is easily scratched by the wall. A daft design and an overpriced item compared with it's competition.
