Very nice bukbs with a nice range of color and dimming settings. I mostly bought these for when regular bulbs are too much for my migraines and they seem to be working well for that.I had an issue where the remote wasn't working when I oulled out the plastic piece, but removing the battery catridge and then putting it back in fixed that. The only other issue so far is that some buttons on the remote affect my Vizio tv, so be aware that turning on a yellow light might turn on Netflix too. "Hiding" the remote behind something so it wasn't pointed at the tv fixed that problem but it's a bit annoying.

I just received my first set, and my remote wouldn't work. But then I remembered, a previous post, about the battery. I forgot who the author was, but I can confirm that the remote requires a CR2032 battery to work properly (not the CR2025 included). I just happened to have a spare (from Dollar Tree). Also, I put the bulbs into a pair of 1970s Gilbert mushroom lamps, and the remote works through their plastic shades (all functions). And I'll be buyin' more to replace some dead smart bulbs.

These bulbs worked great; however, the included remote didn’t work. Luckily we had another remote from a previous purchase, but if we hadn’t they would have been pretty useless. Without the color changing and dimming feature, they are simply regular lightbulbs. When the remote works, they are super easy to use, look great, and are a fun addition to lighting in the room.

I ordered another set bulbs for some elderly family members for a set of lights that don’t have a switch. They’d have to climb a small, 3 step ladder to turn the bulbs into the on position. But due to their health, are unable to make the climb anymore. Those bulbs didn’t connect to the electric power of the house. They worked only after charging. The remote was also “hit-or-miss” and therefore unreliable. The size of the remote was also quite small compared with the GE bulbs. These GE bulbs on the other hand work on the home’s electrical power, the remote is larger, solid and clearly marked. It was also easy to explain how to operate to elders who have a difficult time with technology some times. The remote works at distances across the room and from different angles. Though it’s not necessary for this application, the color changing option is a bonus. For the intended purpose these bulbs were bought, they are perfect and very happy with them. Also, these bulbs are about the same price for the subpar bulbs bought before. We will probably purchase more for lights downstairs to save them a trip. And for people who are caregivers, stairs can be hazardous for some people they help. Which brings me more peace of mind.

GE provides a quality product in these, plan to buy more. There are times you need a low light, and a color just makes it even more special. Very easy to turn on and off, fun lights, Connects well, just insert and use remote to your desired setting. So installing was a breeze. Very easy to use and because it is GE, the bulb quality is top notch.

Maybe clueless, but I thought I was getting a bulb to use in a lamp without the lamp being plugged in. That was my whole point. I have lamps that I want to use but are not near an outlet. So I plugged in the lamp, turned it on, and as other reviewers have said, the remote did not work. I'm gonna assume that the battery was put in incorrectly or is just dead. I really wanted a bulb that did not depend on wifi for charging. I don't have and don't want a smart home. I must not have read the reviews before purchasing, just trusting the GE brand. Especially should have noticed FREQUENTLY RETURNED ITEM. Back it goes. PS Does anyone have a remote-operated bulb to recommend that WOULD meet my needs? Thx.

I use these in a torchiere lamp that requires two light bulbs - one for top and one for side/reading light. Colors are great and emit a good amount of light. White lights are really bright and dimmable. Colors have good brightness too and are also dimmable. I can't use two different colors with the remote since the remote controls both bulbs at the same time, but that is fine for my use.
