Fighting Cockpits: In the Pilot's Seat of Great Military Aircraft from World War I to Today

I kept waiting for someone to write a review that answered my biggest question......was this a new book or a compilation of images from Donald's other 3 cockpit photography books. I ended up biting the bullet and just ordering the book. Thankfully this book is about 90% new material. The cockpits that were featured in earlier books that are repeated in this book are at least photos from different angles than in the previous books. My fears were alleviated! I highly recommend this book to anyone interested cockpits or planes in general and to fans of Donald Nijboer this is a welcome addition to his other 3 books.

One of the Amazon purchases I most regret of.The basic structure of the book consist on a couple of big pictures of a cockpit and a brief description of the aircraft history it belongs to. Way briefer to what you can get in Wikipedia.Pictures are really deceptive. Some of them from outside the cockpit ( I wonder if you make a book about cockpits why not bother in open it). You can get a much better cockpit pictures on Google. Not really worth the money.Now, if what you want is a serious technical work about cockpits, take a look at the book with the same name from L.F.E. Coombs.

Fantastic book for the money and great for any aviation enthusiast, particularly military enthusiasts. I have been to most air museums in England and Wales and this would be a boon for gathering the history of the aircraft experienced. This is a big book with lovely colour plates, worth every penny i of the purchase price in my opinion.

Having been interested in flight from childhood, I have several books on aircraft cockpits. This book is a let down in the sense, although there are good photos of cockpits, the hardware is not labeled. Now for anyone interested in flight decks will agree that if you don't tell what's what, the cockpit photo is useless. That's the only downside to an otherwise good book.

Testo un pò meno, specie per la parte "generica" mentre il parere del pilota è decisamente più interessante, sebbene talvolta aldilà delle mie conoscenze della lingua inglese.
