Needs to go into fridge
It's ok. There's a gap between the zipper and the sides of the bag so it really needs to be kept in the fridge to keep the food cold.

the bag was much smaller than I expected and the zipper broke on the 2nd use.

I was under the impression that this was a "freezable" lunch bag. Had I realized you needed ice packs to keep the food cold, I wouldnt have purchased.
