The Rock Hawk from CST features an aggressive tread pattern with large, well-spaced lugs. This spacing allows the tire to shed mud and other debris on mountain bike trails with varying conditions. In order to help reduce rolling resistance, the center knobs have been ramped. Folding models feature 60tpi, EPS puncture protection and dual compound. Wire models feature 27tpi and single compound. 913g (29x2.25 folding), 1037g (26x2.25 wire).

Good for cheapo tubeless with Stan's and Gorilla tape on a WTB SpeedDisc 29 inch rim
This tire mounted up nicely (not necessarily easily) to a WTB SpeedDisc 29 inch rim in a cheapo tubeless setup with Gorilla tape on the rim (it's not a tubeless rim) and 3oz of Stan's sealant. Will update later with performance comments once I have a few miles on it.Update March 1, 2018So far so good. After the first 6-mile ride, I did lose quite a bit of air pressure (started with 60psi, ended with 20psi) as the sealant was sealing the tire and bead, but aired it back up to 60psi and did not notice any pressure loss over the next couple of rides over the past week. All of these rides have been road or paved trail so far (just breaking stuff in), so no real off-road trail use to report yet. If I were to do this over again, I would probably use 4oz of Stan's sealant because of the inside surface area of the tire (29x2.4 is more surface area than a normal tire).Update March 18, 2018No complaints, no sidewall sweating that I've seen on other non-tubeless tires that are run in a tubeless set. I've ordered another one (I was just running it in the front previously) so I'll be using these as my primary trail tires this season. The sidewall is a bit thicker than the other tires I used, which gives these a better feel at lower pressure. I'll definitely be using 4oz of sealant when I mount the rear tire.Update October 10, 2018I own 3 of these now (all 29x2.4). I ran these tubeless all season on both WTB and RhynoLite wheels. They are NOT light, but traction on the trail and over roots is awesome. No flats, no burps, no problems. If you're not concerned with weight and want a tire that will take whatever you dish out, this is the one for you. If you remount these (or any tires that has Stans buildup on them) you must pick the latex off the bead or the tire won't seat. I learned that the hard way.

Rock Hawk for the win
Great tire so far, I have put 30+ miles on it and its rock solid. I put this on the front end and have seen great improvement in cornering compared to the stock Bontrager XR1's. Also if your on the fence about going up in size, do it. I went from 2.2 in the front to 2.4 and 2.0 to 2.2 in the rear and wish I would have done this along time ago. You will feel the weight of this tire, its heavy, but for the price you cant beat it, and after a few miles It I got used to it. I mostly ride hard pack single track and rock it grips great!P.s. This tire helped me get second place in my division in my last race!

CST Rock Hawk Wire Bead Tire, 26 x 2.40
I received two CST Rock Hawk Wire Bead Tires, 26 x 2.40 and installed the same day. The tires arrived the day before the expected delivery and the next day I took my initial ride. The tire performed great. For the price I highly recommend this tire. I don't know what one gets with a $50 tire, but I would buy two of these over the more expensive brands. Great knobs and grip. I'm happy for my type of riding which is trails of hard pack, sand, gravel and rocks. I love the tire and the price from Amazon can't be beat.

Great Rock Tire
Great rock tire. It is a little heavier than expected but that's what you get with a wire bead tire. Like its name states this tire excels in loose rock. It has a very sticky compound which is awesome in the shale and sandstone rocks I ride. They only thing I have noticed is because of this they loves to pick up sticks and branches. This tire is surprisingly smooth on pavement as well. I would recommend this tire as an upgrade to factory rubber. Its now been well over 200 miles on these tire and all I can say is I Love these things! On single track they really excel. Always a sure grip in the corners and with landings after catching air. Oh, and by the way they don't pick up debris anymore. Must have been a new tire thing. LOL.

Excellent grippy tire
This tire has great grip in dry, wet, and dirt. It is fairly soft, and slow, so you will work a little harder than with most tires. However, my goal is to get a workout, not set mileage records, so this fits the bill. With the density of pedestrian traffic on my local trails it is better to go slower, and the noise of these tires seems to help alert people that a bike is coming. After a couple hundred miles of mostly paved trail, I can see some wear on the rear tire, but nothing significant. The 26 x 2.25 were a bit wide for my bike, and rub the frame a little bit on the rear. This is a 20 year old diamond-back, and I believe most newer bikes have a little more space for wider tires.

Excellent $ for a good, tough, little heavy, tire!
Tough, good looking tires that handles all kinds of terrain. Adjust air pressure for desired handling characteristics. Tread has enhanced my riding confidence. I am really enjoying these tires! I do highly recommend them! Put these on my full suspension. Just ordered 2 more for my hardtail.Update: running Rock Hawks on both bikes, full suspension and a hardtail. 26x2.25 in the rear, 26x2.4 on the front of both bikes. Really hangs tough in the corners now. Updated pictures on both bikes coming directly. These tires can handle any trail conditions really well. They perform much better than the price might indicate...

great bang for the buck if you looking for this type of tire
great product at great price and fast shipping. good tire for the price. grips good on most surface.the tire is not made to corner to sharp and to low, you might get the tire to slip when cornering to sharp and low.not compared to Maxxis tires that the side knobs are much more lower, so you can really lean low while corneringand your tire won't slip at all, since Maxxix tires are very predictable.else that, the tire is really good and the wear is slow. great bang for the buck if you looking for this type of tire.might have slow and resistance rolling, since the tire has a lot of knobs and heavy too. but if you put tire onelectric bicycle than there is no issues.

Great bang for the buck MTB tire
Replaced a 2.125 inch front tire with this 2.4 inch wide tire and took the bike for a spin. First impression was I inflated it too much when I seated the beads. Deflated to 40 psi and the front end felt a lot better! Rode well on paved streets as well as dirt trails and handled rocks and exposed roots well - didn't slip. The tire appears of high quality construction and I think it's perfect for my needs!
