EzeeCube 2 TB Expandable Smart Media Center with KODI, 1080p, HDMI, Ethernet, WiFi, Optical Audio, USB (EzeeCube Super)

Overpriced, bought a new unit and they shipped a used one. The original seal was broken and 2 other seals were placed over the original. No instructions.Remote was used and in torn bag. After all of that I decided to power it up and DOA.I had high hopes for this unit even with it being so overpriced, then to get a used one, still optimistic, to connect and be DOA. What a tool. Not buying another one at All!

June 23, 2017 Update: I have since updated this review from 5 stars down to two, to reflect the situation 18 months later. I have had mine since before I wrote the original review in November 2015.The EzeeCube doesn't seem to be stable. It will randomly crash, wiping out the library. At one point mySQL stopped working, so the OwnCloud server no longer worked, and it could not map a drive that was on the network. Trying a factory reset nearly bricked the machine because it would not get past the white boot screen with a progress bar that doesn't move. Luckily I was able to contact the founder (more on that in a bit), and got help restoring it. I ended up having to take the hard drive out to reformat it because the EzeeCube was having an issue reading it. Once I did that, everything worked again. But dealing with this kind of thing is far from Ezee. The latest issue is that it cannot connect to my network over ethernet. It worked fine the other night, but the next night it had no connection.How do I fix that? I have no clue. And I can't ask for help from support because there is no more support. The founder left to start something else, and the company at that point seemingly vanished. Website is gone, offices are apparently closed. The email the founder gave me for the new head of the company is a yahoo account.Needless to say, do not purchase this device. There is no company behind it anymore, no support, and it can't seem to just stay up and running without something going wrong. A media streamer that sits in your living room to play you content and just sit there shouldn't require this much maintenance, and shouldn't need to be factory reset as often as the EzeeCube requires. If it weren't for the fact that this thing runs owncloud (when everything works correctly, I would give it one star.=========I got the EzeeCube through IndieGoGo, and have liked it a lot. I was using a WD HD TV Live before this, and it's interface was alright, but there weren't options to really change it. And while it played most video formats, it stumbled on a couple. So far, the EzeeCube has played everything I have, and transferring files to it via FTP is much faster than it was on the WD having it as a mapped drive.If you are not used to Kodi as the environment for your media player, it takes some getting used to. In order to use the sexy interface, your files have to be named and organized a certain way, unlike the WD Media Player where you could just dump stuff on there and see it listed. You can do the same with Kodi and access the files through the File Manager, but you don't get the slick interface that way, and the slick interface is worth the extra effort.Skin support is limited at the moment, but there are several different ones to choose from with their latest update. The firmware still has some quirks and missing features, but new things are added with each update. The more updates that come out, the more skins, features, and programs become available. And for any quirks you come across, the support team for EzeeCube is very responsive and extremely helpful on their Facebook page. They answer questions and work hard to help you fix any issues you may have.And the EzeeCube is expandable, and it is. A Blu-ray player stack is coming soon, as well as a retro game player stack, and hard drive drive stack, which can be stacked on top or under the EzeeCube itself. There is also a TV Recorder coming out at some point, so the possibilities for the EzeeCube are fantastic.I am extremely happy that I jumped on the EzeeCube ship and am excited about what the EzeeCube will be capable of in the future. This thing has pretty much everything you could want from a living room media player and more. And it looks sexy!

Since I received this neat little product my complete family won't stop using it. My girlfriend and even my parents (as it is very easy to use) use it oftentimes. I customized literally everything to have the best experience.The pro's:- 2TB hard drive (but you can even have it without a built in HDD)- Great hardware (you can pick and choose)- Unique software that backs up your phone pictures/videos/music the moment you start the Android/Ios app- Interchangable skins- Eminence skin support (Kodi)- Great community support and helpdesk- Use your smartphone as remote- New add ons will be released soon (Bluray, SNES, SEGA Megadrive converter)- Based on Kodi (need I say more)- Endless add-ons to download in the Ezee app storeThe con:- Firmware is still not fully stable (small bugs that will be squashed soon as there are updates almost on a weekly base)Needless to say that I recommend it to anyone who is tired of his/her slow mediaplayer and want an easy to use media player that does what YOU want :)

I received this product as a early birthday gift. This smart media player was just what I needed for my collection of music, photos and digital videos. In the past, I would have to email photos and videos to my family. Now I can give access to my family to view the files and the best part is that we can view them simultaneously!I also like the high tech look of the product...it complements my Samsung Hi-Def LED TV and other electronic components.Set-up was fairly easy with the Ezeecube app that I downloaded from iTunes (there is an Android app version as well). I had a couple of questions after I set-up the product. I emailed their customer service and got my answers the very same day!

I love Ezeecube it take kodi to next level !I have used Ezeecube the 2TB version for 4 or 5 month And i love it !I support them in crowdfunding project.I would recommend Ezeecube to the people that want a good looking device and easy to use.I am still waiting for the extra storage and blu-ray drive to upgrade Ezeecube> We got update From Ezeecube founder and Photos they are coming
