Q: Am I correct that this won't work with full earmuff-style hearing protection?

I have a large-size cap. My head is probably around a 7-5/8 or 7-3/4 size. The cap is loose enough on the sides that it shouldn't interfere with earmuff hearing protection. The upper cap portion is more snug. However, it probably could still accommodate the band that goes between the two earmuffs. If you have a significantly larger head than me, then the cap may be a little tight to accommodate the band that goes between the earmuffs along with your head.

Q: Does this hat include chemicals to block UV? I want a hat without chemicals added to the fabric

Not that I’m aware of, but our hat is several years old.

Thank you for your inquiry. 10 year olds can have a wide variation of head sizes. My son wore an adult large when he was 10, and many 10 years are still in children’s sizes. This is a General Hat Sizing Instructions Measure Your Head Measuring for your head size is both an art and a science. You can use a tape measure (or a length of string that you will have to hold up to a tape measure) to determine the length. Place the string or tape around your head about 1/8" above your ear, across the mid-forehead, completely circling your head. Hold the tape firmly, but not too tightly. Basically you need to measure your head exactly where the hat will sit. If your measurement falls between sizes, choose the next largest size. Compare Another valid method to determine hat size is to try on a hat and check the size. If you don't own a hat, then try on a random hat next time you are visiting a shop that stocks hats. Sizes, even though they do vary depending on the hat maker, are technically universal. You may refer to the sizing chart below if you need to convert a medium to an actual hat size. Please understand that hats are not unlike other apparel, in that sizes can vary somewhat from one manufacturer to another. Q: How does this hat work with a ponytail? Anyone wear while playing tennis?

As long as you can set your ponytail high enough to fit it through the back it would work. Might be easier to coral your hair with a beaded angel wing or African hair clip, it’ll hold your hair really well & the cap will fit over it.

Really brilliant hat, super comfy and nice and cool in the sun, vents stay open well, front fastening keeps it shading your face even when it's pretty windy. Sits well when leaning forwards. The clamshell peak thing is really comfortable compared to a normal cap which was a very pleasant surprise. Also folds up tiny so great for always having on you. This is the hat for me in the sun from now on. Absolutely brilliant, couldn't recommend enough

Producto bueno pero llegó con un defecto

El producto se ve de buena calidad en sus materiales, es ligero, queda bien y es funcional. No se ve lo más a la moda pero nada que esté hecho para hiking es para que uno se vea bien.Desafortunadamente me llegó descosido en uno de los botones que con el uso el daño se irá haciendo más grande. Por otro lado, la hebilla que ajusta el sombrero no queda muy firme y se desajusta si se da un tirón; para un producto diseñado para exteriores eso no es muy aceptable, sin embargo por sus materiales y todo no es algo por lo que rechazaría el producto.Ya procesé la devolución y espero que el siguiente no llegue con el mismo defecto para así cambiar la calificación.

GREATEST HAT to protect from the sun.

The best hat I’ve ever purchased. My husband and I both use this while playing Pickleball outside in Mexico. Yes I snap it up and have complete sun protection. The top of the hat gets a tad hot... there are vents but they are not mean’t to stay open so I clip them together with a safety pin so that they do indeed stay open. Not a big deal. I’ve washed it a couple of times and it’s still like new... worth the price!
