I previously purchased a  My ibeauty Tool Mermaid Brush Contour Brush  at Marshall's for $9.99 plus tax and also purchased the My ibeauty concealer brush for 5.99 plus tax that is about 1/2 the size of the contour brush. I loved those brushes so much that I wanted to buy more. I saw this entire set of DSCbeauty brushes for about $20 at Marshalls but before I could purchase them, this same set of brushes (without all the Marshall's fancy packaging) came up on a lightening deal for $8.22 and I immediately purchased it.The bristles are so soft on these brushes and it's easy for me to apply my make-up and powders. I love the curved "toothbrush-like" handles and the rubberized base ensures the brushes stay firmly in my hand. I have no idea what the bristles are made of but they are super soft and yet very dense. If I were ever in the market for brushes again, I would purchase these. The style is obviously a bit different than the wand-type brushes and is held differently during application, so for some that will take getting use to. Also, the price on Amazon during the lightening deal was half of what I would have paid in Marshalls or TJX. In fact, I could have forgone the two My ibeauty brushes I purchased previously and have just got this set for the price I already paid for one brush. The price is still a steal at $10.28.

I did not expect these brushes to be as soft and as dense as they are, but they surprised me completely. I purchased them because they look different from other brushes, and I hoped they would be as different as the looked; I lucked out. I've bought sets of brushes before, and have been disappointed by every one of them. Not so with these brushes. First, if I choose to apply my liquid foundation with these brushes, they will not "swallow" up so much of the make-up that the foundation will run out twice as fast as if they were applied by hand; this is so because they are not as deep as other brushes, so can absorb less liquid/creme foundation than a traditionally longer, deeper brush. They are excellent for applying blush, for brushing eyebrows after applying eyebrow pencil to soften the appearance of the brows, and for any other reason that one might want to use them. I am so happy that I took the chance and purchased these because of all of the above reasons. At the original $24.99 price, these would be a fantastic buy, but at the sale price of $9.99, they are a steal. Even if the sale is over when you purchase these, they are worth every bit of the full price. I've paid more than that amount for a single brush of excellent quality. A whole set of superior brushes at the original price is an unbelievable and worthwhile bargain. Get them; you'll L-O-V-E them!

I purchased these months ago and wanted to use them for awhile before reviewing.I was very happy when I purchased these. Upon arrival the brushes were beautiful and the packaging was exactly what I was expecting for the price I paid. I did not expect nor did I need to have a fancy box. You can purchase a nice holder for these bad boys for $5. The brushes are very soft and the hard plastic handles are OK. Just like many other reviews on these you cannot apply too much pressure to the handles or they will more than likely snap on you. I like the grip at each end of the brushes which makes it more easier to handle and not push against your face. The bristles are thick which is nice because your makeup sits perfect on top and does not get lost in the abyss of the brush. I never understood why people needed 20 of these in a set. I think the 5 brushes that come with it are perfect size and shape for anything you need.The only negative is that after using them for about a month and cleaning them a few times there were some bristles coming out of the brushes. It wasn't too much and didn't affect my makeup at all. For the price you can't beat it when there are so many Oval Brushes out there that aren't worth the money you pay for them. Especially when it's only because they look cool.

I got these as a gift for my little sisters. They are really good brushes. And fun to do makeup with. They aren't as soft as the real thing but apply the makeup just the same. They're soft but u feel the difference when applying your makeup. The application of makeup is very well for all brushes too. I prefer to use these brushes for contouring. Also the brush handle detached easily from the gold rose plastic which is why I give a 3 star. So maybe an improvement on that for the future. Overall I would repurchase for the price.

I just received my brushes and they are Outstanding! I washed them gently with mild soap first and there was no shedding of hairs. I used the small brush that looks like a tooth polisher to apply my eyeshadow and it blended it perfectly. I used one to apply contour and it looked like it was airbrushed after. These brushes are beautiful, silky soft and well made and they Work! For the price they are brilliant.

They are great brushes for applying makeup and also has a great price. The brushed are great for coverage. However, I am giving it a three star because the quality isn't great. They are very flimsy and break easily. The biggest brush, that I use frequently for foundation, broke within a month of use. The handles are not sturdy.

I love these brushes; the bristles are compact and soft to touch. Makeup is applied and blended much easier and smoother with these brushes. I think the brush also gives illusion to me having smaller pores due to blending evenly. I love the fact that there’s a “mirror” on back of brushes too.Oh yes! The handles are comfortable to hold while using but I find that the largest brush is difficult to manoeuvre when blending so I don’t use that size much. The colour is nice as well if anyone cares for that; It’s a beautiful rose gold finish. The only downside is that the brushes are difficult to clean because you can’t dip them in solution like regular brushes.I sprayed my set with soap solution and put to air dry (standing) but I’m sure the compact bristles weren’t clean properly.
