I thought that these would be black all the way through with just a white paper backing. They are actually black on top clear in the middle and white on the back If you cut them the black is so thin that the clear shows on top of your mosaic. They are working for what I am doing but would not buy them again.

I used these tiny tiles to go in between mirrors in my 1st mosaic project. They are inexpensive and since they are less noticeable than the larger tiles I am using you don’t notice the poor quality from a distance. It’s hard to see from photos but these are not actually colored glass. They are clear glass with a colored backing so they don’t look very good close up. They were also packed poorly, one case opened and spilled everywhere. You also have to order more than you think you need because a percentage of them are chipped or smaller than they are supposed to be. In the future I will only be using the better quality tiles from the local art store. The ones at the art store aren’t even more expensive, just better quality colored glass.

I am happy with the edges on the tiles, they appear to be poured rather than cut, therefore safer to use, however the coloring is very washed out and pale compared to what is pictured. I will need to find some dark purple to complete the project which is going to set it back and it may not be complete on time.

I did not read well enough in the description to know that each of these glass pieces have a white backing. But why wouldn't the pictures show that? In fact why don't the pictures show the container that they come in so you have a better idea of what 100 pieces looks like? All rhetorical questions of course, but the representation is somewhat misleading. At least to non-crafters. Hoping this photo helps others make an informed purchase. That said, they are very pretty, so maybe I can think of something to use them. Just know what you're getting!
