I have attached a picture of this pillow along with another post surgical pillow I purchased from Amazon for comparison.I love the way this pillow came packaged in a reusable, protective, heart shaped plastic zippered case. This makes this item great to give & receive.The pillowcase is a sort of stiffish poly-cotton. It's completely stitched shut. The pillow is packed with supportive stuffing. It will not flatten when you squeeze it. It's perfect for hugging after any abdominal surgery, chest surgery or even helping ease discomfort from broken ribs. The size is perfect for easy transporting. This is great to use as a barrier between you & seat belts to protect your wounds.This would even make a great any occasion gift. Especially for your significant other to hug when they're missing you.I stated in my other review that had I purchased the other pillow first... I wouldn't have kept looking and would not own this. I'm glad I did though. This pillow is slightly smaller, easier to transport for on the go comfort. The main thing this lacks that I really wanted was pockets. I had to have major open heart surgery and my main concern was post surgery pain , especially associated with coughing or sneezing. I ordered and took this pillow to the hospital and immediately noticed the difference between other patients pillows. This one provided so much more support and was thick enough to give me confidence. A lot of patients, and my surgical team, asked me where I got it. I was very pleased with this pillow. Also, I felt it was an excellent value! When it comes to needing all the help you can get after such a major surgery, why risk it??

My sister had open heart surgery recently and when someone undergoes that it’s very very painful when they cough or sneeze. The hospital had given her a really thin, heart-shaped pillow that was so flimsy it was like, holding nothing. I got this one for her and it was perfect. It’s big and covers her entire chest area. It’s cuddly and it helped her so much squeezing it tight when she needed to cough her sneeze. She kept it with her at all times over the last three weeks when she was in the worst pain and on the airplane flying back home she had it with her. I highly recommend it. Everyone in the hospital was loving it and asking her where she got it and she’s got some friends she’s going to order it for.

My husband had a triple bypass surgery. The hospital recommended a pillow to put across his chest. I found one through Amazon. It was not only cute, it was practical. Or was it?That is until my husband tried it. He requested a softer bed pillow. He was more comfortable and a regular sized soft to medium bed pillow, which protected the chest when he would cough, sit, etc.I gave the cute bypass pillow 4 points, because it was so cute and made for great conversation. No laughing though, until pain has been reduced or relieved.
