Cool Gadget; Great Gift Idea; Easy To Use
I really like this binocular/digital camera combination and have taken it out into my yard and the woods behind my house several times just to view and photograph the flora, birds, squirrels, etc. (when I can catch them). If you have ever used binoculars, these work the exact same way and the camera is fairly easy to figure out, even without the instructions. The 14 page, black and white instruction booklet contains a lot of useful information about the features and use of this device. It was very well done. The kit includes a generic 8 GB SD card that you must load upside down before taking any photos or video. I only used the included card and thought the pictures/video were kind of “medium” quality (compared to my iPhone which I consider “very high” quality) but this might improve if you use a better card or different resolution settings.I used the included USB cable to connect the device to a Windows 10 PC and, in a few seconds, the system configured and recognized it. I was then able to view the device as an external drive, view and copy the pictures/video to my PC.The video we took was very shaky so, it is nice that they include a mini-tripod in the box. Instead, I mounted the camera to a full sized tripod/adapter I bought 15+ years ago and it held on just fine.Another thing to note is that both the pictures and video seem to be permanently “zoomed in” to the same level as the binoculars and I did not see any way to change that. I.e., both the binoculars and camera are best used if your subject is more than 10’ away (the further, the better). I filmed our cat from less than 10’ and the video was too close up and too blurry to be useful. However, things filmed from more than 25’ away, looked much closer and in focus.Overall, I think this is cool gadget that could appeal to a variety of people and would make a great gift.If this review was beneficial to you, please click the “Helpful” button below. a great way to enhance your bin experience
The media could not be loaded. A few years ago I read a book by an author that emphasized the importance of observing nature and also the benefits of using binoculars or 'bins' as he called them. Being that I love to hike when not jogging I think I have earned the right to refer to binoculars in the slang term for people who use them a lot.I was naturally happy and excited to see a digital pair of binoculars by the Craig brand. These alone have 10 magnification which is perfect for me. I am not into portable viewing devices enough to want to spend a bunch of money on them so this nice pair gives me a lot of features for a reasonable price that while not cheap is not over the top. I would say these bins are about medium priced in relation to regular types that are readily available.I have never owned a pair of bins with digital enhancements before so this was interesting and run to experience. This need a micro ds card to be able to store pictures or video footage.I was surprised and impressed that the video option can take up to ten minute clips. That is much longer than I would of expected or think I would ever need.I live in Ohio where there is plenty of wildlife to witness. You can be right in the middle of the woods in a matter of minutes due to the extensive network of metro parks as well as other wooded areas. The benefit of having binoculars with a camera is you can now have a device that is trail compatible as in you can have them right around your neck so if you see a deer or beaver or something you have a better change of capturing the image before it runs away. I was lucky to find a giant caterpillar nest that of course I did not have to worry about in relation to it moving out of range for a nice photo. These binoculars are also great for sporting events where you just might capture a vital play as it is happening. I just recommend using these bins in nature because that is my interest over sports.I was able to focus on a wood chuck but the thing disappeared before I was able to capture footage. This was fun an only motivated me to continue to find another one which I hope to soon. The included video clip hopefully gives you an ides of the overview of this device. The controls to operate both the camera and video features were self explanatory and I did not need to use the directions, other than to read the safety precautions, which I always advise everyone to do.I was pleasantly surprised to see you can fold back the plastic eye area for people who wear glasses. This is so the protruding part of the eye guards do not block glasses form focusing. These bins work just fine without engaging the digital parts which are just for capturing images. The charge time for the digital features is fast. The direction recommedn not leaving the charger attached for more than 24 hours. In conclusion I am super happy with this and recommend them to nature lovers everywhere.

I've been sitting on my porch and using these for the birds that visit my feeding center
I have two poles with hanging areas and I have different types of feeding stations and bird baths to attract as many different feathered friends from the "wild" area behind my house. We have an undeveloped area owned by the Army Corps of Engineers that s connected to the shoreline and trail areas around the lake about 1/4 mile (as a crow flies) from my house. So we do have quite a lot of wildlife in the area, including birds and my feeders do attract them! Sitting up on my front porch in the shade, I'm far enough away that the birds will come in for food and water and don't pay attention to me. I can get zoomed in on them with the binoculars and take some good shots. I haven't yet gotten a good shot of the hummingbirds that visit - they are so fast one would need the ability to change this camera to a very fast speed and this camera isn't capable of that. Not that I expected it to do that, but I would love to be able to capture some neat shots of the hummingbirds that come to my feeder - they are such amazing little creatures! The next time I go camping, I will take these with me for a similar use - taking a leisurely hike around the lake, I'll try to get some shots of birds, squirrels, and other critters. These are nice and small so easy to pack and take with me, too.

Pretty cool.
These Craig CAC378 Binoculars with Digital Camera are really pretty cool. Having a camera and a screen fixed to it is genius. These would be good for birdwatchers and bigfoot hunters alike! There is a slot for a mico card in order to save the images.
