Cambridge Audio Minx MIN 22 Neat & Compact - Satellite Speaker, BMR Drivers, Wall Mountable (Black)

"What did you like?" asks Amazon as a way of introducing the review section. Well, nothing, as it happens. I honestly cannot think of a way that this could be incorporated successfully into a home theatre setup. The sound is thin and weak, and even accompanied with a subwoofer to take the work from its shoulders it was just terrible. Dialogue is so poorly handles that it meant boosting the signal from the amp to its highest setting. Avoid.

I bought five of these to upgrade old cheap Sony speakers on my Denon 5.1 system, along with a Cambridge sub.The sound is clear with good ranges, (the sub provides any deep bass). Vocals are crisp with good clarity and the overall sound is incredible for their size. They come with a decent wall mount for either vertical or horizontal options as well as clear 3M self adhesive feet if used on a bookshelf. They are quite weighty so don't move around on their own.The electrical connections are a bit clumsy and protrude, ring crimps on the speaker wires would be advised.Although the advertising makes a lot about 'British' design and technology they are made in China.Overall I'm very pleased, they are not obtrusive and sound good which my main two requirements.

Good support team. I was advised to pull out the binding posts to tighten the cable spade plugs. It's quite a small diameter attachment so you will need to choose the spade size carefully. Sounds pretty good for a small speaker although I am using them as satellite speakers

I bought these to supplement four Minx Min 12’s, but am nonplussed by the larger 22’s. I use them as L/R in a 5.1.2 system, but really can’t say they’re any better than the 12’s they replaced despite costing more. The right hand speaker also sufferers from distortion sometimes. Overall I’d rather I’d saved my cash.

As always, a lovely clean sound from Cambridge Audio, sounding like it's coming from a speaker 3 times the size. Currently using 2 of these with the 300w minx sub for my sound system and its top quality
