2013 project from Gospel great Fred Hammond, who has been dubbed ''The Architect of Urban Praise & Worship''. Fred is joined on United Tenors by contemporaries from both the Gospel and R&B worlds - Dave Hollister, Brian Courtney Wilson and Eric Roberson. Each of the United Tenors joining Fred on this project comes with a unique background of his own. Dave Hollister was a member of R&B supergroup Blackstreet before striking out on his own as a solo artist. Brian Courtney Wilson has been ever-present on the Gospel radio charts. Eric Roberson, an underground R&B sensation from Philly with a dedicated following, cites Fred as one of his biggest musical influences.

Bring Back The Original Commissioned!
Fred Hammond is a master musically and lyrically at writing powerful soul stirring gospel songs. His production savvy on studio recordings can be heard on each track. With this one exception: His heavy handed bass production became annoying and distracting and interfered with hearing the message in the music. Which brings me to the title of my review. The original Commissioned had Michael Brooks and Fred Hammond as primary songwriters and producers for the group. Michael Brooks on keyboards and Fred Hammond on bass guitar. Together they produced a balanced sound that was not too light and not too heavy. "United Tenors" is primarily a vehicle for the vocalists to display their solo talents, unlike Commissioned which combined fine solos with great background harmonizing.

Mozart move over - Fred and the Boyz are here
Napoleon, Okay check this out! I am convinced in my soul that Fred is the Mozart of gospel music. Dave Hollister, Eric Roberson, and Brian Courtney Wilson enters a whole other season of their ministry with this project. Of course who can ever forget commission. They brought us through. It was during the time when we searched for a gospel group who we could culturally identify with and spiritually commit to their message. Commission shall for ever live on in our hearts and minds and spirits. Now let me addressed the instrument called Fred Hammond. Musical genius! Yep. God Place the gift inside of him, anointed the gift and then made it available to the body of Christ. I know one may say hey man you're supposed to be commenting on the United Tenors project. My point is no matter who Fred connects with in ministry it's always on that level. Just as Mozart was able to take simple melodies and develop major compositions, Fred Hammond Dave Hollister, Eric Roberson, and Brian Courtney Wilson has just entered the realm of ministry and composition which parallel that of the greats of their times. I thank God for you gentlemen. Keep up the great work.

this CD is amazing from beginning to end
Just as expected, this CD is amazing from beginning to end! On-point, polished vocals from each of these guys, heart-touching lyrics, and foot stomping beats, make this my Sunday morning praise and worship CD before heading to church. The sound is reminiscent of what Fred Hammond has been known to deliver over the years. What brought me to purchase this selection is my favorite song on the entire CD, "Here In Our Praise." It's no secret this collaboration is a winner, so these guys have got to keep this going. I anticipate the follow-up CD soon.

This is an awesome CD-Hammond, Hollister, Roberson and Wilson- United Tenors.
From top to bottom I enjoy this music. I was originally pulled in 1st by the You Tube live performance of “Here in Our Praise”. That song sold me enough to preorder the disc. 2nd I truly enjoy Fred Hammonds work. Then you add in Dave Hollister who I see as a talent that has yet have the commercial success that he truly deserves. I have also enjoy Brian Courtney Wilson, been watching him for a little while now. Eric Roberson I’ve heard of him but couldn’t say much about him music. Based on the work of this CD I will be looking deeper in to his music. I am a music lover that examines the complete project often finding gems that will never be played on the air but are pleasing to the heart, soul and mind. I’m still really listening but I enjoy this music. Songs that grabbed me early: Unshakeable, I’m in the Midst. Then I took a listen to I’m Reminded and it had me in reflective mood with tears in my eyes. Then the groove in My God is Real put me in another place. If you are fan of any of these men I recommend this disc.I will be looking forward to live performances. I may have to buy a ticket and fly to another city if the don't come to Cali.I received the disc the day before it was promised that was great.

Great Album!
I just want to say I am glad that Fred decided to bring back this Commissioned style gospel music. This has been missing from Gospel music for a while. I got this album the same day it was released and have been listening to it every since, at work, in the car, at home. Don't miss out on this album if you are a fan of Commissioned, Hammond, Hollister, Robertson, or Wilson. My favorites so far:1 Unshakeable4 We Worship You5 I'm In The Midst7 Never A Day <-- This track is awesome! Pleasantly Surprised:)
I love Fred Hammond's music, but the last three albums was not the Fred I have loved for decades. I was a little hesitant to purchase this album, but decided to give Fred another chance. I was pleasantly surprised by this album. It's a little reminiscent of Commissioned, and yet still manages to showcases each United Tenor featured. You can tell blood, sweat and tears went into creating this album, this album definitely took time to make. I hope that there are more United Tenor albums to come, but I want them to take there time and don't rush.

What can I say. This is an amazing tribute by four genuine sold-out worship leaders. Their soulful voices compliment each other on every track. Very slick, stylish and most importantly worshipful collection of songs. Well worth having in your collection.

Cannot express how awesome this album is
I have been a lifelong fan of Fred Hammond (well since salvation 14 years ago) and have purchased almost every album he's released. I hadn't heard of this album before but because it featured Fred I knew it had potential...I have never been so overwhelmed with how BEAUTIFUL an album could be - each song just got better and better as I listened...The lyrical content is superb and of a high quality, the musical accompaniments are ingenious and gorgeously arranged to make listening an utter delight...I was totally taken away into powerful worship and being spiritually uplifted... Their voices are fused together in a beautiful way with rich, wonderful harmonies...Usually one or two songs are not so good on an otherwise great album, but I can honestly say that EVERY SINGLE song is fantastic... I triple recommend this album to everyone, newly saved or saved for decades - this album has got it going ONNN!
