Stevie Ray Vaughan - Live At Carnegie Hall - CD

Love this album
I went to this concert. Had the vinyl but it warped. I'm so happy to have the replacement. Stevie Ray Vaughan was one of the best guitarists of all time. His talent grabs your attention and it was taken from us much too soon. I enjoyed the live performance and can continue with the CD

A top 10 of all time live album!
Stevie from the first note comes out completely on fire in this infamous set. By 1/3rd of the way I’m you can hear the band and audience have caught up. One of those rare live recordings that really captures the energy of being there!

Awesome concert!
I had heard about this concert and wished I could have been there. It's great to be able to finally hear what I missed.

Audio quality is poor
The disc sounds like somebody's bootleg, not like a professional recording. Very disappointing.

Good but could have been better.
Four stars on the the strength of the excellent sound quality throughout and several tracks some of which are outstanding such as Scuttle Buttlin', Honey Bee, Cold Shot, Dirty Pool, Things I Used to Do. But for me what makes this album really special and different to his others is the guest horn section. Whilst Lenny is a beautifully performed, it felt out of place on this album where the songs are blues, rock and jazz (or jazzy). The last style is a genre which I've never been happy with and whilst Letter to my Girlfriend, C.O.D. and Iced Over show SRV's versatility in Jazz, I didn't enjoy these tracks at all.Instead of these songs, I wonder how Leaving You, Texas Flood, The House is Rockin', Look at Little Sister or even Couldn't Stand the Weather would have sounded with SRV in this kind of form with the acoustics of Carnegie Hall and with this line-up.

guitar hero grinds it out.
Having had several vinyl albums to date, and none on CD. This seems a good option to broaden the music library. For live recordings it is fair and displays all of our Ray's virtuoso guitar work. On reflection, there isn't a lot of subtlety in it, which i should have known is his style, which is skilful but he likes the loud pedal and this is great, when your'e in the mood.If you like the vinyl you'll like this. A safe bet.

S.R.V. on top form!
Great concert with superb sound quality by the much missed guitar genius. There are quite a few of his live albums out there but not many as good as this one.Highly recommended!

fantastic, maybe his best live CD
I have all SRV stuff, and I even had the chance to meet hm once personally. So I am a fan and not really objective am I ... This live album has all the good tracks, plus the sound and atmosphere are GREAT. I see this as his best live album, much better than Montreux and his other stuff. Fantastic, must buy. And God rest his sould, I am still missing him ...
