I liked having a holder that wasn't hard plastic and that had velcro straps that let it be secured tightly to a retractable leash ... but I was pretty unhappy that the roll of bags would get twisted and make it really hard to pull out another bag (this holder is quite a big wider that roll of bags, leaving enough room for the roll to get twisted into a bad angle.Then I cut a pencil to a length a little wider than the holder, slid it through the roll of bags and it works flawlessly now. Kind of a hacky fix, but we're talking poop bags here!

I know it sounds ridiculous but I've done some research on poop bag holder's. My husband and I have two medium sized dogs and we have gone through four poop bag holders in the two years that we've had our dogs. Either the plastic ones break or the cloth ones are not made very well and they come apart at the seams. This product had good reviews so we decided to give it a try. I just bought it last week and here's what I think. The bag holder looks like it is well-made. The material is not a flimsy cloth bag but it almost feels like a Gore-Tex. Looks like it could stand up to being dragged on the ground which we all know dogs will do with their leashes. The bag is a little bit bigger than a normal poop bag role. It makes it a little bit larger however now you can hold two rolls in one bag instead of one. And as we all know you can never have too many poop bags. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because we've only had it for a week and I would like to see how well it stands up to our pooches. But it looks like we're off to a good start. Thanks primal pet gear, it looks like you might be one of the only companies that actually thinks about the dog and their parents when you are making your product.

First of all, I couldn't believe how hard it was to find a cloth bag. None of the local pet stores had them, so I took to Amazon and found Primal. I read the evaluations and decided to give it a try. Wow, am I impressed. The bag is made of a thick fabric, the zipper is good quality and it stays in place with the Velcro loops just fine, and it doesn't bounce around while we are walking. The pull through opening is a bit tight, but that isn't a bad thing as only one bag at a time comes out, not like my old plastic carrier that would empty a roll if I wasn't careful. It holds 2 rolls quite easily. I buy the larger heavier ones and it still works well.I would recommend this product to those who have had their share of frustrations with bag holders. I'm going to order a second one to attach to the leash I keep in my car as well.

Good quality material. The hole where the bag pulls thru is a little tight, but hopefully will loosen in time. I was surprised by the size and thickness of it however. It takes up a little more space than I would like. The size though allows room for extra small items. The clip is great preventing the holder from slipping down on the leash. I just wish there was a way to make the velcro tighter on the leash so it does not also ride up. Otherwise though, it seems like a great purchase that will last me a while. I usually use the plastic hard shell bag holders but they always break or somehow gets loose where I end up losing the cap and a roll of bags. Give this a try. It might just work for your needs.

I LOVE the purple color. I also like how this attached to the Leah so it doesn't dangle, and three rubber dispensing hole that keeps some pressure on the bags so they don't just come out. However, I wish it were slightly smaller. When a standard roll of bags gets about halfway used, the roll gets hard to dispense because it has too much room. I solved the problem by unrolling the entire roll and folding the bags on top of themselves so they dispense fine, from the first to the last one. I just think this product should have been sized better so that small hassle wasn't necessary.

I've been thru 4 different poop bag holders - and THIS IS THE BEST!!! the ones with clip ons (even carabener type clips) ended up falling off and eventually getting lost or broken. The one that was sort of like this one, wasn't long enough to fit all the different sized poop bags there are out there.I love how this one has 2 velcro straps. It stays put (been on the leash now for almost a month) and it fits all the various poop bag brands that I have purchased (also trying to find the best... so far amazon basics wins).Yes to this holder!!

Update: After 2 years I finally had to replace this because the velcro would not stick anymore. Everything else was working flawlessly but it wouldn't stay on the leash. Tried using a zip tie to hold it on but didn't like it swinging around. Broke down and got a new one since the price is reasonable.I love this! My old plastic dog bone bag holder broke off on a walk and got lost so I decided to try this one. I love that it velcros on and you can reposition it where ever you like on the leash. It also has a ring if you prefer to hook it on somewhere. You can even hook it on to a belt loop or a purse or anything if you want. Because it velcros to the leash it is totally silent as I walk the dog. No more swinging around and making noise like my old one did. There is enough room for a full roll of bags plus a key if you like. You can actually fit 2 full rolls in there but that pretty much maxes it out. But you can definitely put a refill in there before the first one runs out. The material is well made and I don't have any fear of it breaking like the plastic ones do. I have a large dog and a fairly wide, thick leash and this fits onto it perfectly. Very satisfied with my purchase.

This replaced a cheap plastic bag holder that we bought at a big box pet store. I love the fact that it cannot break when I drop the leash. The only issue I have with it is that the gasket that allows the bags to pass through is really stiff and difficult to maneuver (I agree with the poster who suggested you'd need a pen or pencil to guide the bags through). That said, it's a good holder at a good price, and the manufacturer cares a lot about his product (you will get an email from him making sure you're happy with it).
