I believe all would agree the old saying "you get what you pay for" is pretty accurate. I have had mixed luck with MTC and some of the other cheaper BMW parts suppliers, including a power steering fluid cooling line whose bolt holes weren't even remotely close to where they needed to be. So now I stay with OEM suppliers, for the most part. However, I decided to take a chance with this shift knob, mainly because of the price and the fact that my current knob was pretty ragged. I was also hopeful that this was a weighted knob since the product information stated that it weighed 5.6 ounces (for comparison, a ZHP weighted knob weighs 6.4). Lo and behold, this was confirmed as soon as I took it out of the box. This knob definitely has some heft to it. The knob is plastic-y feeling, but not unpleasantly so. It's definitely not as nice as leather, but better than the poly coated wood knob that came in my car. Given the low price and overall feel of this shift knob (as well as the added bonus of being weighted), I would definitely recommend this knob to anyone who drives a 3 pedal bimmer looking for something new.
